Trolling is the lazy man's method.
Depends what species you're after.

Fish wheel.
That way, you only catch the stupid ones.
You can be off doing something else.

Depends on the body of water and desired species. Be more specific.
Trolling can be very effective. Sometimes it's not.

Rotenone, O Rotten One.
It frees the mind for other things.
Use a weir to catch the corpses as they tumble downstream.
And hang the consequences.
"Catch and release" is for bleeding hearts.

Dynamite sounds good. Gotta limit the gear. Tenkara on flotsam for Yellowtail? Bring your sunscreen.
I once read a story of a guy who speared a black sea bass off of southern ca. He was towed around for a while.

Looks like some people on this forum go for brazen effrontery and crudeness, which I would consider more of a Gaffing technique than a passive lure troll.
They catch more fish if you look at post count in political threads, but a higher percentage of them are kicked off the boat.

Uh ... Fish Finder ...?
Not ONE of those bikini-clad hotties with the bows and arrow actually shot even one fish!
It didn't matter whether they had big titties, or little titties, or had tattoos, or knott. NOT ONE FISH.
I had to watch the video three times just to make sure!

Pretty gross and bloody...but recreation is recreation is destruction is rebirth and makes money for gear dealers.[Click to View YouTube Video]
Imagine "clean carp-killing" ethical debates, if you will. And welcome to the Twilight Zone.
Clear Lake is a huge tournament. The first year my older brother shot (early seventies) he won a thousand to split with his partner, but they ruled that from then on no one could step out of their boats, which is how Mike shot all the time.
Back then, the Clear Lake carp were hauled out to the local orchards for fertilizer, according to him.

Probably only Jim will get this, but I caught Country Joe and The Fish at Monterey. Reprised here for all you sweet things in the attic or on a shelf. This was back when people ate real corn (:45), not "corn dogs".

A Hawaiian local's method...
Works on a sea shore in off shore wind conditions but may work in a stream with current as well?
(of greatly dubious legality)
~ 1 case of cheap beer
~ Large trash bag
~ 200' of polypropylene line
~ many double leader out riggers
~ many glow sticks
Inflate the trash bag and tie it to the end of the buoyant polypro line.
Feed it out and every 6' ~ 10' put a double leader line with baited hooks with a glow stick on each main/leader line junction.
Pop a beer, sit back, strum your ukulele and chug a few or 10 beers.
Check long line/ rinse and repeat :)

Or my other response:
If you troll for Fish...
It's got to have a catchy 'tag line' yet be pretty inane before
Russ will chime in with a typically witty, some what esoteric, snyde comment!
