Wes - hehe!! Warm up circuit!! The day I did that route was the first day I'd NOT roped up and hung gear on my harness in I couldn't tell you how long (honestly, years!) Funny, that day nearly killed me! I was so used to gear lines that anything else sent me into a tailspin... I quickly decided I needed to round out my climbing. The next time I went back (it's only about 30 minutes from where I teach) I was able to use that route as a warm up; what a difference diversification makes!

You're right, RT is a great area! It's honestly not too bad right now... especially since it's mostly all in the shade. Before you hit the area, though, double check the camping regs; they've changed significantly. Some folks have gotten down there and been unpleasantly surprised... Thanks for the info!

B-Bird, Rocktown is one of my top three bouldering areas in the US, right up there with Hueco and G'mom. So many problems there, and the dr. topo guide only has maybe 10% of them. Still a little bit early in the season for me - I like it better in the winter. But, a few of the rrg women (some in my photos) will be there this weekend for a girls trip, so you might run into them if you are around.

Wes - let me know next time you're in town. If you're interested (and if you don't already know the area like the back of your hand, which you likely do!) I can hook you up with some folks who DO know the area better than the backs of their hands... You won't even need a topo if you've got one of them! (and nope... obviously I don't know the area, so don't even ask me what I've done on previous visits... I probably couldn't even find them all again, truth be told!! TW, now that's another story altogether...)

Will do, though I have been lucky enough to climb with some of the people that really know the area (Shawn K., etc.). So, I have a pretty good handle on most stuff there. But, it never hurts to have a couple more cool kids along!
