Thank you everyone.

My surgery was the 6th of April, pretty extensive, but worth the major effort.
I am doing great, got out of the hospital on the 13th, then home to home nursing while I healed enough to do things on my own.

Tomorrow, I get to drive my car for the first time. WooHoo!

Just got to the computer today after spending yesterday with the docs, and more docs tomorrow.
Thank you Mouse, Frank, all for the kind words and images. Frank, I am okay for now, but I am putting you on my "elves list" for when I need help. I have so many wonderful girlfriends, godchildren, and neighbors that I feel greatly loved and cherished. :)

Doing better, getting well and stronger, hung my new dream catcher with two owls perched on the branches above my desk. :) {{{{{{{{{NEEBS}}}}}}}}}

{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}} to neebs for the beautiful piece of art!

I will be up and around more soon. Just sort of being slothful right now, feeling as though I just carted a huge elk out of the Bitterroots (I've done that, so I know how it feels) but I am getting stronger every day, eating Alaska Moose that I had vac-packed from Doug's last hunt. :) Great strength in it.

Neebs, thank you for the thread, and I'll be back with a full report as soon as I am stronger.

I am tossing lots of fairy dust to everyone, and want you to know that I am recovering, and it is a pretty good story. :) For later. My house is filled with flowers and fairy dust. :)

Much Love,
feralfae

It's such a great contrast when we recover from injury or illness. How wonderful it is to feel well again! Keep recovering well and look forward to great days ahead.

So true ^ :)

Okay, so there was a looooong emergency surgery and the result was a diagnosis of NETS cancer, which few people know about, so here is a link to a site a friend of mind has up. Another climber from back east.

The tests are all coming back that they got it all, and besides, it is very, very slow-growing and I am probably good for another 40-50 years. I am just really weak from healing, but getting stronger every day. WIth great help from Alaska Mooseburgers from Doug's stash in our freezer. Also got some AK salmon to nibble. :)

Easter morning, early, I had a dream that I was in Paris, and Doug was there, and he walked over, kissed me on the forehead, and said "They got it all." Which is exactly what our friend and my surgeon told me yesterday! I wanted to have Doug's good news "medically" confirmed before I posted it. As far as our brilliant surgeon friend could tell, he got it all. :) Now all I do is heal and be bored. I am doing needlepoint, reading, sleeping a lot, and waking outside a few times a day.

I am on furlough/sabbatical/vacation/convalescence for another month though, and not allowed to lecture, work with clients, dig in the dirt, or ride horses. I am probably going to head down to the Winds as soon as I can drive that far and hang out up on the North Fork, lolling in the sun on huge boulders and watching the eagles and big horn sheep. I will know I am strong and healthy again when I can scramble up the close cliff walls. :)

Thank you for all the great cheering up! I hope you are all enjoying Spring and delighting in the daylight and warmth of the air.

I am watching TRs and videos here, being entertained and smiling a lot at some really good scrambles.

So, that's the story for now. Neebs sent a beautiful dream catcher with two owls and wonderful fine feathers that dance in the tiniest of air currents. I go out and pray in our Medicine Wheel every day at sunset, and send prayers to the four directions. I am healing and I will be back in the mountains sooner rather than later. :)

Much Love and Thank you again for the great good wishes. :)
