May God bless the deceased, whoever it may be...I offer my prayers.

Does it matter if we knew them online? No. They're all people with lives.

I'm just sad tonight. Let time enough pass for those closest to him to be notified properly.

Peace

I am so sorry it was a friend of yours Hank. Many more will be hurting as well soon.

Peace

Hank, please don't pull your account. You've put too much good stuff out there, would hate to see that go away.

I'm at the stage right now where I'm pretty sure I know what's going down, have that knot in my stomach, still wishing it wasn't true but know it is. F*#k man this is so bad :(

Hank, looks like a lot of stuff early in this thread got deleted...

Being as the news has been broached via people unable to hold off posting about it, it might be time to branch off another thread ... There are two folks here that we should be giving thoughts for. Don't want one being lost for another.

^^ Yes. People realized they were neculturny and cleaned up their posts. It was an act of respect in the often contentious forum. Celebrate the lives we share.

I'm really sorry for your loss Hank. I'm not in the BASE crowd, but it grieves me nonetheless when I hear of young lives cut short in the mountains and wild places. My sincere condolences to you and to all that knew these two.

This is so sad. We just had a fatality here in Zion. Now this. Even not knowing the deceased personally, it still feels close. Love and prayers to those who are dealing with this loss.

i apologize if my tribute was disrespectful.

you shouldn't leave us though, hank.
we f*#k up now and then,
though we shine other times.

i know that you don't have kids.
my kids kick me out of my bed,
take all my money,
take all my time,
talk sass to me,
crowd my relationship to with my wife,
and crowd my relationship with life.

sometimes i want to leave them.
though i don't, and i never will
because true kinship endures the uglies
so that when future hugs are needed,
all parties are present to give.

so consider us your kids.

f*#k man. it sounds like you're in a vice.
the hank that i've read about is hard to break,
so i know you've got it in you.

regards, and much respect to your deceased friends.

Man, bad news.

I remember when Shipley died. It was like getting punched in the stomach, and I still think of him often.

Sorry Hank.

Very, very sorry to hear this. Particularly when it's apparently someone very close to one of ST's good voices.

Another poster said this earlier in the thread, this could be *my son* in a few short years. I can't even imagine and don't want to try. Now this same kind of tragedy has hit at least two other families and countless friends. 'Devastating' is too light of a word to describe what those affected are now going through. Lives scarred forever.
