Leading the roof on Moosedog Tower, Joshua Tree around 1982. And being belayed by Doug Robinson on The Nutcracker, Yosemite around the same year.

August 1971 on top of Gannett Peak Wyoming. Fritz at lower left. We went up the East Face on a route not in the guidebook that was pretty easy. Ran into 3 Texans that had climbed the regular route and smoked dope with them on the summit.

^^ Nice, Bruce! Looked at that thing many times!

Err...I thought the first pitch of Zortex Thrust was now "The Big R", and that Soft Shoe Ballet's first pitch is "Snack Crack"? My memory may be fading...

Thanks E! Yes, I'd say memory is flexible and mistaken at times. HA!

During the first ascent, which I was also on, but only up to the bivy "hole", Scott Davis and I definitely tried to talk Bob McGowan into the name Zortex Thrux, which he didn't buy, but we preferred.

Therefore, the exact line of Soft Shoe, including the difficult and dangerous seam directly above the death flake, will always be Zortex Thrux to us others that were there.

Scott put up a very difficult couple pitches to the right, which he called Bat Chain Puller. I think it turned into some 5.13 route.

The other names are not familiar to me.

Bruce, our times were very different. I checked the new guide and apparently things have changed. Awesome picture and ascent.

Very proud - that first bit is seriously X. Big props.

James: great BITD shots!

Haha! See you up there soon, Guyman - we are living closer now.

Send you a message coming November...

Here's a slideshow of old climbing shots I put together in 2009 for a CascadeClimbers.com sausagefest party at Shultzy's Sausages in Seattle. As fitting for the era, the soundtrack is all Hendrix.

Off-White... you have raised the bar.

I need to go dig in the rafters for that lost box of slides--- I know its there.

Thanks for pointing out Guy Andrews. Us Guy's always stick together, I do remember him from the "WEEPING WALL HANG" that went on every Sunday.

EDIT: Gome is that you?? L or R???
