Great pics bringing back great memories. Did some trekking around those parts back in the late 80s and again in the early 90s. I recall being snowbound at a hut near a pass somewhere in Nelson. Also recall Blenheim being the one town I could not find a ride out of the whole trip (hitchhiked the islands) and had to spend an extra night.

Thanks for your comments, Travers
I live in Blenheim, I'm amazed you couldn't get a ride out. It's a great little town to live in, as it's an excellent springboard for the many outstanding areas around it.
Cheers

Is that light the end of the tunnel or a train?

Avery thanks so much for posting up such wonderful and stunning scenery.
My daughter was in New Zealand and fell entranced with the place.
I so want to go.

Avery, are you near Christchurch? My bud Geoffs daughter is an engineer and moved over to work on the earthquake rebuild. Geoff may be going to New Zealand this fall to visit.
Beautiful pictures.

Thanks clinker.
I'm Christchurch born and raised. I moved up to a small town called Blenheim about 3 weeks after the fatal February 2011 quake.
Been up here 3 years now and I love it.
Blenheim's around 4 hours drive north of Christchurch.
I must confess I haven't been back to visit CHCH since I left in March 2011.
