One of my childhood heroes, Bill Nye!

This comic seems appropriate as well:

Bill is making a mistake by agreeing to "debate" a creationist

among others, both Richard Dawkins and Stephen jay Gould refused to debate such people

they felt by doing so, they would be adding both publicity and legitimacy to their cause

no one wins such a debate:

The Creationist wins because the Evolutionist cannot prove gods do not exist

and the Evolutionist wins because the Creationist cannot disprove the evolutionary fossil records

don't do it, Mr. Nye, don't give him any credibility by being next to you on stage.....

EVERYBODY knows that the world was created on October 23, 4004 BCE.

Bishop James Ussher proved it some 500 years ago.

Didn't you get the message?

Here's an essay about one person, from 40 years ago, who had no fear of this debate:

Worth a read and the included clip is impressive--the war was won, there and then, in 1973.

To see things or one group or another as winning against another group or things is to rearm, recharge, and reorganize the opposing groups once again.

Nothing changes.

?All things are on teeter-totters, somethings in this world never change.

I want to hear about ultimate reality!!

Conc: there will be at least one teeter-totter in this world for all times.

and thus we deduce: The very last thing in the world will be on a teeter-totter. QED

To see the commercialism that surrounds the spectacle of the modern Christian movement I am lead to believe that choosing to follow Jesus is for many people of no more importance than choosing what shirt to wear on a given day.

It has become a fashion, adding another bumper sticker to a car, another hat on the rack, an entertainment on a Sunday morning or Wednesday night.

The creationist movement is even worse, a farcical display of arrogance perpetuated by a contingency with little care for reality and a full immersion in being right.

The main goal of the creation museum is to prove that the Earth is 6000 years old, that it was created in 6 days and that humans co-existed with dinosaurs. This is a very simplistic question or rationalization, but if that is true then why are there no cave drawings depicting dinosaurs? All "cave drawings", petroglyphs or pictographs are of large mammals. Surely a very large and intimidating dinosaur would have been note worthy.

I'm watching this debate. That guy has a whole dog and pony show with clips of Nye, testimony from religious scientists, visual aids. My fear is people are sucking this stuff up and now this young Earth theory is going to gain ground. I understand Dawkins fear of this debate now.
