Fritz- It was a pleasure to meet you finally and thanks for starting this thread. Connie and me were discussing a thread this morning and you already handled it nicely.

The auction was a team effort so don't give me too much credit on that front.

Thanks to all the folks that made this award happen. As I noted in my remarks, anything that makes Jeff feel good is deeply appreciated by those of us that know him.

This high profile award and the attendant exposure also really makes it easier for the Metanoia film project moving forward. We need major sponsors and the word is getting around now in a very big way with two major events in three months starting with the AAC gathering back in December.

Steve: Again, thank you for all the work you did on the Outdoor Inspiration Awards & silent auction project, and thanks to all the participants, & especially Connie, for all the work that went with a wonderful event!

Let me also mention that Steve started a thread this afternoon that Jeff (jello) & Connie need help in Boulder with unloading a van full of gear from the SLC event.

The collage is a collection of photos I took of Jeff on Latok 1. I believe they are for sale to help support the Metanoia film project.

edit: The glare you see in the photo is not present on the poster.

The Michael Kennedy Dream Team shot looking up at the as yet unequaled Latok climb is stunning too! The collection of photos made possible for this event was truly magnificent and I am a bit amazed that so many didn't sell.

You will see them again soon and you can be Dizzy with the Vision too once Connie catches her breath. That gal is MOTIVATED!

Congrats Jeff! Been an inspiration to me ever since I met him (only a couple of times) when he was living in a little wooden place in Gunnison. I remember the place being piled with gear (probably more than the 2 climbing shops in town). He showed us pictures he had taken from climbing the Black Ice. He was very inspiring, and has only gotten more so! Congrats and well deserved!

Never met the man face to face, though i recognized his contributions and influence to the old school practice of all around climbing over forty years ago. I mean, who couldn't, he was every where, doing cutting edge routes in the purest of style. Congratulations Mr. Lowe your achievements brings pride to the sport.

Jeff's climbing has always been an inspiration for me, but, the manner in which he has confronted his long and debilitating illness is THE most inspirational event of my lifetime.

Heidi & I decided it would be fun to put Donini's collage of photos of Jeff Lowe on Latok together with some old gear that was in use at the time of their cutting-edge expedition.

It took a little while to get it together, but here it is:

Jeff was present when Scott Fischer took a 150' fall and in effect took a core sample of his lower leg with one of the brand new Hummingbirds in 1977.

Toker Villan! I kinda worried about that when I was leading waterfalls with two Hummingbirds in the late 70's.

Falls were more or less unthinkable.

Here's my whole wall of authentic to 1978 climbing gear.

Hard to guess what gear the Latok climbers were using, since there were many choices.

Chouinard ice screws & pitons for sure!

Jeff is tops. Inspired us with his climbing, invention and then he ramps it up tenfold. He lives with courage that inspires. He lives with a dignity that I aspire to approximate. He has written me several times when he knew I needed support. He is a man we can all look to. "On belay, Jeff? I'm ready to follow this next pitch you led."

Fritz,

IMHO, that is just wrong. Accurate depictions of history, should only inspire the youth, right? Still, I bet you'll eventually pass it along.
