Riley, What's up? Your post is beautiful, but it sounds like a good-bye note? I know I'm wrong. Just a six pack sentiment?
Loved having dinner with you and Beth and The Blitzo in JTree. You are worth your life to many. Cheers, Lynne

Yeah, Riley, the great question...."Who knows what the future holds?"
Answer: We don't. We have each other and we have just the one day we wake up to. When Dan died, nearly 6 whole years ago now, my mantra became:
A day at a time....it's all we have.
A step at a time....it's all we can do.
With peace, patience and perseverance.
That's about it, Dude. At least for me. You can plan and work your guts out (I did) but it can all be gone in the wink of an eye. (That's what happened to me.)
This is why jesus is my best friend. When I read Matthew 5,6, and 7 I know I have someone that will always be beside me and watch my back. That matters to me since Dan died.
Anyway. The fantastically great thing is .... when you wake up you NEVER know what wonderful thing can happen. I will be house sitting in Ouray, Colorado in the new year. Something I never dreamed of AND I can work on my book. Opportunity came out of no where.
OK, I'll quit rambling now. Love ya Bro! and yes we will get Beth and have a rockin' dinner together once again. lynnie

Well, like, duh....yeah we all are gonna do that....it's nice, really nice, that Riley stopped for bit to express appreciation and affirmation of life....with plenty left to live!
Paying it forward, nice Riley, good heart!

Jesus is a comforter for widows.
Male and female.
Widowhood seems to me to include unwilling divorced partners.
Male and female.
Wherever this thread goes, He goes with us.
Thanks, RW.
Happy holidays to you and your tribe.
WITH BELLS ON IT!
The so-called "First Christmas Tree" is gonna be my last, whether or not I'm "right with Jesus."

It feels like just a few days ago that we were cruising up Black Velvet Canyon, you were still charging with your gimpy leg, and just taking it all in looking out on a beautiful desert landscape. It's been a few years already?
Well, I know that whenever our paths cross again, we'll pick up where we left off, almost like no time has passed except we will both be richer from life experiences.

"Moments of clarity - just spent an amazing and sometimes trying 4 days with my best friend since childhood. Teaching him how to let go...I guess I learned something as well."
Sitting with death really illuminates the beauty and preciousness of this life, doesn't it Riley?
I saw that as a kid when my dad died, but didn't have a context for it. It's different when you're an adult, as you are, watching someone you love at the threshold. It magnifies the gift a thousand fold.
You're an awesome being Riley Wyna, and The Taco is a better place because of your presence.

There are a lot of great people on the taco. Just got in from a trip to Orlando. Sitting in the airport in DFW I checked into the taco. I guess I have no life, but it was good to see the taco goes on like the eveready rabbit.
