Thanks so much ya all.
For teaching me so much about everything from science to humility.
It's a great privilege of my life to have been able to climb with you all, argue with you all, party with you all, and call so many of you my friends.
I have nothing but love in my heart and respect for every single one of you.
What I have learnt and experienced here online and through many climbing days with many of you can never be reproduced in any University or discovered in any book.

I hope my future holds many more days on the sharp end with as many of you as possible .
But if it doesn't please know that my dreams as a climber and a lover of climbing have been fulfilled many times through you all.

Cheers,
Riley

Riley, What's up? Your post is beautiful, but it sounds like a good-bye note? I know I'm wrong. Just a six pack sentiment?

Loved having dinner with you and Beth and The Blitzo in JTree. You are worth your life to many. Cheers, Lynne

Not goodbye ..
lol

Just an etch mark on the great tree of life ..
Who knows what the future holds .

That was one hell of a nice dinner we had Lynne.
Such great chemistry we all had together...
We will do it again !

Edit:
Moments of clarity - just spent an amazing and sometimes trying 4 days with my best friend since childhood .
Teaching him how to let go ...
I guess I leaned something as well.

Yeah, Riley, the great question...."Who knows what the future holds?"

Answer: We don't. We have each other and we have just the one day we wake up to. When Dan died, nearly 6 whole years ago now, my mantra became:

A day at a time....it's all we have.
A step at a time....it's all we can do.
With peace, patience and perseverance.

That's about it, Dude. At least for me. You can plan and work your guts out (I did) but it can all be gone in the wink of an eye. (That's what happened to me.)

This is why jesus is my best friend. When I read Matthew 5,6, and 7 I know I have someone that will always be beside me and watch my back. That matters to me since Dan died.

Anyway. The fantastically great thing is .... when you wake up you NEVER know what wonderful thing can happen. I will be house sitting in Ouray, Colorado in the new year. Something I never dreamed of AND I can work on my book. Opportunity came out of no where.

OK, I'll quit rambling now. Love ya Bro! and yes we will get Beth and have a rockin' dinner together once again. lynnie

Wow Lynne !!
I may have to sharpen my ice tools and pay you a visit !!!!

You have peace in your heart dear Lynne.
Me too!!
That is really all that can be hoped for, I guess?
You make me realize I need to do everything to make sure my best friend finds it in his heart as well.

We're all gonna die. Mother Earth is layin' in wait to receive all of us. Have 'em stick one of these on your grave. It's the best you can do to witness after you're gone. Meanwhile, pray and hope and have faith that...you are in Jesus' hands.

It feels like just a few days ago that we were cruising up Black Velvet Canyon, you were still charging with your gimpy leg, and just taking it all in looking out on a beautiful desert landscape. It's been a few years already?

Well, I know that whenever our paths cross again, we'll pick up where we left off, almost like no time has passed except we will both be richer from life experiences.
