Maybe if Dean stopped acting like a crybaby every time his photos show up online he would get more exposure and sell more books and calendars.

Huh?

Dean does NICE work. ;0

this book is great too.

^^^Reading comprehension fail.
Never said they were bad photos just drop the whining every time they show up online.

Klaus does make a good point though, the models deserve more recognition and payment.

Many models work just for the exposure.

Reilly, a lot of photographers take advantage of that nativity to advance their careers.

It would not be so bad if the photographer had an open attitude like Blitzo and loved to share their work, however when the photographer acts like a spoiled child and demands people compensate them in order to view their work, well they should expect some back lash.

Split, we're referencing past actions and attitudes, this thread has been posted before.

Maybe it's all semantics.
Poached is selling the work to publications.
Posting to some forum saying "hey check this out" is sharing, no worse than letting your buddy borrow a book.

I agree with what you are saying Tami but I dislike how some artists react when others share their work. Be happy someone appreciates it and don't throw a fit when it gets posted outside your corral.

Many models work just for the exposure.

From what I can see, they're certainly getting the exposure.

Yeah.....what's your guess on the shutter speed, ISO and aperture?

Probably shot digitally. Raw file format, I'd guess.

Being compensated for their awesomeness?

goatboy, your zealotry implies you think those women were forced to bare their booties.
I don't see anybody forcing any of them to do anything they don't want to do.l

Being compensated for their awesomeness?

Of course.

Poor things, forced into these photo shoots, knowing ahead of time that there would be no dough.

Why in the hell did they do it?

Thanks for posting this thread- between your original post and everyone's griping, I am gonna go buy this calendar. I had seen it in a few other places on the web, but didn't know who they were, since you posted it here, I now get to know who to support.
Thanks again.

Pictures posted online without an artist credit stamp embedded into the image are fine to repost.

No, it's not fine to repost them. Those images are copyrighted material. You need permission of the photographer to repost.

Just because something is on the web doesn't give you the right to pirate it. Pirate is actually the wrong term: you are stealing them, pure and simple.

This is great, but if it hadn't been for the "griping", you wouldn't know who took them and where to buy the calendar.

Pulling teeth is easy--trains are a bit more difficult, though :-)

It's in poor taste and simple respect to post Dean's photos without his permission much less credit.
