I go under the knife Monday to get the hernia repaired. I'll be 100% in a month. That means ice climbing will be had in hyaline and while at OR in Salt Lake. Still writing up the TR. Slideshow is ready to roll.

They say "A stitch in time saves 9".

Hernias are no joke but heres one anyway: A priest and a rabbi meet in a hospital room after their hernia surgery. Turns out the hospital had run out of hernia mesh. The priest says, What a religious experience! I got the Vatican to approve my getting my hernia reinforced with a piece of the Shroud of Turin so now I feel like I am at one with Jesus. The Rabbi says, Thats wonderful! I got my hernia fixed with a piece of netting from a discarded onion bag. The priest says, Thats quite unusual how did it work out? The rabbi says Pretty good, thank God but every time I scratch myself down there my eyes tear up.

Good luck, heal up.

Thx couchmaster. I laughed so hard the hernia is bigger.

Sure glad I'm getting surgery so soon and the recovery is so quick.
I'm driving my wife crazy. Got to heal quick so I can get back out there where I belong.

Hey Plaidman,

I had a hernia when I was a kid. It sucked, but the surgery went well and i was back on my feet in no time. So will you. Hope you have a quick recovery.

Working on that TR. The story will be worth the wait. Still writing and editing.

I am just happy I get the surgery so quick. No down time to mess with the ice climbing .

After taking the bummed pic I took this one

The prior one was the 'bummed' pic? Damn, I thought it was the "I've soo waited for a proper epic" pic.

I was so long on the wall it was more like a saga than an epic .

Plaid, are you still climbing El Cap? I thought you finished like a month ago. Are you really packing out all your urine? Don't tell me you were secretly drinking it at Peanut ledge, gross dude, I know you were thirsty and all, but that's hardcore.

Oh man Plaid....so wonderful reading about your ventures!
I'm convinced the stones I've bought from you are more than quadrupled in value...but more importantly, they are lovely.
Hernia surgery survivor here, too, but probably in a different spot! Hiatal hernia here.

I'll be high as a kite by tomorrow. I'll let u all know how it goes .

I did pack out my pee off the wall. Trying to make it a little more pleasant for the next party. Although it is kinda handy having that urine smell when leading at night with a headlamp. You can tell when you are getting close to the anchor by the stench
The scariest was leading pitch 12 in the dark . Had a lot of trouble finding the hook move to make it to the piton so I could get to the anchor. Must have puzzled over that one for a long while
