Plaidman, was in line behind you at Camp 4 the Sunday you arrived in September for Facelift. Thought of you during the shutdown....and the storms. You told me about the weight loss program, a story in itself. Events political and personal swirled and now your story is for the ages. My birthday is in Dec, I'm one month younger than you. Was a wonderful chat waiting in line and now two months later I remember feeling light and free after reserving my site. The next moment I was warmly welcomed at site 35 by tribal brethren Anders and Plaidman with his wheelbarrow.

It was good talking with ya. Had an extended adventure. I was in the Valley or at the enterance for 6 weeks. I'm writting up the TR now.

The wheel barrow was donated by my boss/climbing partner. We left it at Camp 4 for all climbers to use and enjoy.

I will be back in the spring. End of May early June for another round of Big Wall. I think I will try it with a partner this time.

I just caught up with this thread.
Well done!!!!
And to your lovely wife as well!!!!
(damned, I've forgotten her name)
Was great to see you both again at FLift.

And yeah......trying something new and somewhat complex when you're "at the end of your rope" is definitely a way to Take The Big One!

Yeah I beat the crap outta that rabbit as he passed by for the 10th time.

I was a little embarassed as to how long it was taking me to do the route. But then I realiezed how much I was enjoying my time on the wall.
Thanks man for the kudos. As I write up the trip report I am just enjoying the trip that much more.

By the way my wifes name is Ronda. She is sure glad to have me home after me being gone for 6 weeks. Got to make some money now so I can go to Hyalite In Montana this Jan. for some ice climbing for a week! Whaa Hoo!

UPDATE!!!
Just got back from Dr. turns out that the hip flexer I thought was straine turned out to be a hernia. It will require surgury. Lucky I got insurance. Even with this injury I have no regrets. This climb was still one of my favorite times EVER!!!

Hope the recovery wont hinder my trip to Hyalite.

I go under the knife Monday to get the hernia repaired. I'll be 100% in a month. That means ice climbing will be had in hyaline and while at OR in Salt Lake. Still writing up the TR. Slideshow is ready to roll.

They say "A stitch in time saves 9".

Hernias are no joke but heres one anyway: A priest and a rabbi meet in a hospital room after their hernia surgery. Turns out the hospital had run out of hernia mesh. The priest says, What a religious experience! I got the Vatican to approve my getting my hernia reinforced with a piece of the Shroud of Turin so now I feel like I am at one with Jesus. The Rabbi says, Thats wonderful! I got my hernia fixed with a piece of netting from a discarded onion bag. The priest says, Thats quite unusual how did it work out? The rabbi says Pretty good, thank God but every time I scratch myself down there my eyes tear up.

Good luck, heal up.

Thx couchmaster. I laughed so hard the hernia is bigger.

Sure glad I'm getting surgery so soon and the recovery is so quick.
I'm driving my wife crazy. Got to heal quick so I can get back out there where I belong.

Hey Plaidman,

I had a hernia when I was a kid. It sucked, but the surgery went well and i was back on my feet in no time. So will you. Hope you have a quick recovery.
