I emailed Plaidman last night seeking his permission to start another thread asking for a porter or porters to help move his gear off El Cap.

I just got his reply:

Yes. Please start new thread. I am going up top now up East Ledges to
top of Zodiac. Contact info 503 706 5315. all my bivy gear is there. I
will have too see how I feel. may bivy up top.
Thx so much!

Plaid

Seems like the man has had quite the workout, and is nearing the limits of his endurance per his post today on the Plaidman thread.

Right now my rigjht hip flexer is screaming so loud I can't think. I went to the Yosemite Bug last night and did a thereputic soak. Felt good last night. screaming this morning.

At the Lodge eating breakfast. Carb'in up for another runn up the fixed lines after getting some more duct tape tob repair my shoes.

I think there have been few times in my life I have been more smoked or more ripped. No body fat left. i have not looked like this since I was 20 years old.

I'll join in with Mighty Hiker on the offer he made on the Plaidman thread last night, but I'm willing to donate cash directly to up to two porter/saviors/heros that meet the same critera.

From Mighty Hiker:
I will pay US$50 for each person who helps Scott move his stuff down (maximum two people). The conditions:

Must be done by Thursday evening.
The helpers won't themselves get paid, but for each who helps, I'll make a US$50 donation to the Yosemite Climbing Association. Plus you'll get lots of backpats and stuff.
You have to make sure Scott doesn't work too hard, or get off route on Zenyatta Mondatta on the way down.
Scott verifies to me that you really did help, a half day or more.

(I may buy any helpers a beer or some other treat at next year's FaceLift.)

C'mon you guys - it'd be a lovely excursion, great views and company, a good cause, and you'd have a new friend.

Give Plaidman/Scott a call if you're a willing, fit, & knowledgeable hero!

I'm willing but not able as I am in Colorado.

Story has it that you will either be dead or stronger when this is all done.

Cheers,

I'm afraid I shot my wad on time away from work this week. I was at a funeral for most of today. If there's anything I can do to help coordinate, etc. from 90 miles away in Fresno/Clovis, let me know.

Just shuttled tons down from base of Lurking Fear, nowhere near as hard. Shuttle loads down as far as you can carry, drop, hike back up and repeat! Ride all pigs down raps at once. Assemble a single giant rap load and put rap device on load, not on you! Then clip onto rap device and ride pigs. You sit on pigs, they dont hang from you. Good luck!

So the El Cap Diet works, eh?

What critical piece of information am I missing here? Why are people supposed to volunteer to help a person get their material objects shuttled off of El Cap????

If MH relents and pays the actual monkeys, something might get done for $100 each. Support the dirtbag economy!

Yeah, someone help Plaid down so he can hurry up and write a TR!

Plaid just be safe...get some rest (well it's dark now, maybe you're bivying as I write this) and take it easy.

I'd help for free, getting down was the most brutal part of my climb up Zodiac.

So who gets the tax write off if MH donates $100 for a dirtbag to haul loads down? And how many dirtbags need write offs?

Wade! I agree with you!

what a strange thread.

In case a: hero/savior/porter who knows his/her way up down El Cap is still willing to help out Plaidman-------I'll raise my reward to $100.00 per hero on these terms.

The conditions:

Must be done by Thursday evening.

Maximum of two heroes.

You have to make sure Scott doesn't work too hard, or get off route on Zenyatta Mondatta on the way down.

Scott verifies to me that you really did help, a half day or more.

Payment by check in the mail or Paypal.

Phone Plaidman/Scott if you're a willing, fit, & knowledgeable hero!
