JL, it appears from his brother's post Pat's heart gave out.

A message from Pat last week was that his pathology reports were clear and he was doing well - albeit sometimes tired but that was expected for his 4-6 week recovery. He seemed pretty optimistic, his father has had prostate cancer for 20 years and has managed the disease. With the clear reports, I think he along with all of us were extremely relieved.

The news is sudden and tragic, listening and reading the stories of friends & family memories makes me wish I had known him better.

Hi, this is Pats nephew... thank you all for your wishes and appreciation for my uncle. I miss him very much, I was looking through the site and saw quickly a photo of me and my uncle when I was a young kid I didn't believe it was me and him at first and did not save the photo, it is me and my uncle pat at a lake i'm like 5-6 years old (i'm a super blond kid) if you saw this or posted this photo it would really mean the world to me to have a copy. thank you!

Daniel, I just spent some time trying to find your image, but failed. Can you remember what kind of site it might have been on? He had something like a double set of friends.
