yeah man. Pollyanna Harrington would straight up scold people that she didn't agree with... she just wasn't rude or offensive about it. I liked that chick.

Ha!
Un-Tye you are way off route making that suggestion.

If I'm unable to righteously vent might as well
go out and harvest some lumber. Which should it be?

Well it may be a stupid thread... but some of the best threads on here by far are ones like the "show me your woodie" thread. Nothing but awesomeness and nothing to bicker about.

(I reiterate that arguing wouldn't be considered negative as long as it is constructive)

Ya know what, The Tye, I felt like you do/did here when I first became an ST campfire persona.

Pretty much scared shitless....(excuse me grandkids if you are lurking). But truth is truth and that's how I felt.

It took me a bit to realize that, The Tye, no matter what you post or how many people agree or disagree with you, Dude, you are still a part of the whole here, a part of the party, the community.

The most incredible, wonderful thing about this place is that people that haze ya, raze ya, but Dude they never forsake you. You are the Campfire, the Community.

So don't go all macaroni on us. Just post, and we'll post back. The negative comments aren't about you they are just comments.

Peace, along with joy, lynnie

Really, Tye, all you can do is to be positive and encouraging yourself. The haters are always going to find a way to hate, just ignore them.

He said negative which is only one side and unbalanced.

Negative MUST always be there and has nothing to do with hate.

It is the opposite of positive,

Impossible to eliminate even on the absolute platform.

Equating hate with negative is just plain stupidity due to poor fund of knowledge.

Duality is truth.

Violence is also opposite of peace.

But doctor creates violence against the body in order to heal.

Doctor will cut (violence) against the body in order for it to once again become whole.

Things are not always what they seem ........

The word 'negative' suffers from cultural prejudices. Negative G's are waay gud, right?

I guess it falls apart if you take every word literally...

"Negative Comment" is an expression... to me it represents a comment that is:
-spiteful
-counterproductive to the argument being had
-meant to anger or hurt
-an intentional Straw Man arguement (which happens a ton and leads to endless circular arguing)
-etc...

I didn't think about the title of this post as much as the subject matter unfortunately...

But you should get the idea. Not a ban on opposing ideas/yin and yang... but on dealing with those oppositions in the above listed ways...

Tye, without Straw Man arguments few Taco Heads would have a leg to stand on.

But I am overly sensitive as the Khumbaya Police here recently charged me
with 'Harshing The Vibe' when I questioned the propriety of a risky helo
rescue of a guy with only a broken jaw. How could I be so negative as to
question the risking of eight peoples' lives for one with far less than a
life-threatening injury?

Well Locker you may very well be right on... ( but I did only say 1 month... as a thought experiment...)

but can you look at a thread like the "poor little joey" thread... that has accumulated 300+ posts in like 3 days.... most of which are people just shouting the same thing back and forth to each other... and think that this is the best way to discuss an issue...? Maybe it's just dandy and I'm just too averse to bitter conflict to appreciate it? That is just fine.

I just like the warm fuzzy feeling of compromise... which happens sometimes without making things a boring, vanilla hell.

Man... That's funny because I started to type on that previous comment that I was starting to feel like a whitebread hippy but I erased it because I didn't want to seem like I was backpedaling... So I guess you nailed it.

No negative, huh? This almost always comes from liberals who dislike people that confront their idiotic views, and call them on it.

"Why do you have to be so angry and confrontational?" Because you're making no sense and your ideas never work, despite you thinking you're being sensitive for holding these ideas/ideals.

F*#k off! And don't tell me what I can't say!!!

Feel-good bullsh#t. Sometimes you SHOULD be very angry AND pissed off, you wanker.
