I just want to be reincarnated as the church bell. My girlfriend says huge scrotums and balls mean you get laid a lot.
Chicks dig big scrotums is the way I read it.

This is the best thread. Ever. I love it. Never seen a mountain goat out there, so can't comment, but I keep looking!

It's kind of goaty around here - I could smell it.
A friendly head-butt from a resident January goat.

My ex was a major goat researcher. I've chased those buggers all over the Olympic Mountains with her. There's nothing they can't do. I've seen week old babies romping up
and down mind-boggling stuff.

@Chris.. that is actually a pretty famous piece of film footage (albeit a very corrupted copy). I think they used it on Wild Kingdom(?) BITD. Sticks in your memory since it's so friggin' amazing. I've seen film footage of kangaroos doing exactly the same thing.
anyhow.. back to the goats...

I've seen them do some amazing stuff here in the Wasatch.
I watched a goat make it a good ways up Hatchet Crack (5.7) before bailing off to the side. I've also seen tons of goats come down the Schoolroom rappels. They take a line slightly to the looker's right of the rappels.

this was at Trango base camp in 2007...I figured that the goat knew what was coming for him the next day (shish kabob) so he really went all out. the route is 5.8-9 smeary slab.

Climbing near Mt Rushmore in '95, I was leading a 5.10 second pitch when my belayer let me know that he was slowly creeping up the start of the pitch because a goat had trotted up a 20 ft 5.9 crack below us and was approaching the base of our pitch.

Climbing on the sparsely protected granite dome of Stone Mtn, NC in the early 1980"s, journeyman ace EZ reported seeing a pair of goats mating in the middle of a 5.9+ pitch a coupla hundred feet off the deck. Most of us have had to at least clip in to do that!!

The goats at Stone mt. NC seemed to know when you were cruxing WAY out from the last bolt and would take the opportunity to run right up to you and snort. They could climb 5.10 all day! Sadly they're gone now.

do they ever fall?
Believe it or not, yes. They also succumb to avalanches.
We never did figure out what caused their horrible Stinkeye...

This all seems exaggerated.
Here's some 4th class, easy 5th class by young uns.

I've seen domesticated goats fall in Albania, usually on steep vegetated areas above slabs....they went at least 100 meters, two or three on one occasion.
