Speaking of Dawn Wall, right now we are auctioning off one of the ropes Tommy used on the Dawn Wall. Mike Crow turned it into a doormat and 100% of proceeds to go the American Safe Climbing Assn. Tommy also used this on some Diamond projects.
October 20 was day 1 [for the 2013 edition of this project].
They climbed the first 5 pitches, then hiked in from the top, got water,
fixed ropes down the wall, and established a portaledge camp near last year's high point.
Kevin Jorgeson seems to be posting the most updates: http://www.facebook.com/kjorgeson
from Kevin Jorgeson's facebook page - Tommy got injured:
And by El Cap bites back, this is what I mean. Heal quick Tommy!

Disaster strikes! Haul bag took a 200 plunge while clipped to the back of my harness. Hauling hook fail. It was a bit jarring. Looks like a costochondral seperation. I am headed home to try and heal as quickly as possable.
I would guess so. Seperating ribs hurts like a mutherfkr. I used to wrestle in high school and had it happen to me, although just a twinge. It hurts to even breathe, and takes a while to heal.
Damn, man. That was an all star team up there. I want them to get this done and finally see the hardest overall route on Earth put up. Tommy has spent so much time on this, and they are super close. They can't give up after this year, and we all age.
Best of luck to them. This route will really be something when it finally goes. I believe that they have already freed the moves. It is just redpointing every pitch.
Some day some person will solo it. Time always marches on.
