Emerson has been missing for six days now.. Could be on walkabout but he has never done that before.. More likly in a Coyote's belly. He was such a gentle and good cat.

Sorry to hear about this.
We lost our cat to a coyote a few months after we moved to our current place. It hurt, but at least we had the closure of knowing it was over for her, because a neighbor saw a coyote carrying her away.
Best wishes for Emerson coming back.

I think he was here about 8 or 9 years? totally free the whole time to come and go as he pleased. Every single night outdoors is a great adventure for a cat and a great danger as well. someone has to eat and someone has to be eaten... all that being what it is Emerson was a very special and gentle soul and I am pretty darn sad about this...

Sorry about your cat. Consider that he could have been co-oped by a neighbor? They let him and and fall in love/don't let him out. Emerson lives the life of a rich mans cat as they pamper him and love him. We had a cat co-opted by the neighbors. She actually preferred them (our kids were small, noisy and active at the time). Till the neighbors decided that if one cat was so great, they'd get 2 more. Then she moved back and didn't even look at them although she's hiss at their cats. Broke their hearts. Really. Anyway, it's a better memory than a Coyote.
Tradman, how old was Emerson?

I think he was about 9 yrs old? super scairdy cat. the shelter was going to put him down because they thought no one would take him. Offered him to me for free but i donated the $60.00 anyways. he spent the first several years liveing in the closet. he never got to the point where anyone other than me would see him. When outside he always hid. Almost never layed out in the open like a tasty meal but would be in the bushes or under a vehicle. i do not see him moveing in with someone. I do see him hideing in a garage and getting locked in.....
