Where's Hunter?

Not many kids your age have the experience and skillset you have. Hard enough to find them during the summer when they can converge on the valley from all over the country, but to find one locally is a tough ask...even in Calif.

You're probably going to have to find someone who's strong and psysched and train/teach them, or just forget about the age thing and climb with someone who's into the same goals.

Isn't there a gym in SLO? That's where I'd start looking, on a youth team night. Even if you don't find a wall partner, you might find a girlfriend (or boyfriend if that's your thing).

Call Kira Herson. She wont need the C2 skillset since she'll just free all that stuff anyway.

Lots of districts-such as my district, where I teach- are on a modified traditional schedule that give a week or two off in the fall and spring at the end of each quater, and start earlier in the summer. We started at the end of July. Next week I start a two week break.

You should probably set your goals higher than what is in the valley. Most teenagers and 20 something's I know don't want anything to do with those old beaten out climbs that smell of piss and vomit. Most of them want to do something new and unclimbed. Might have to move to South America or Africa, California is so 20th century.

...California is so 20th century.

The goldmine which is California climbing has barely been tapped. This wall has one route...

Here's another face with one route...

Of course there's nothing to do here...

I could hook you up with one of my students that climb .13d comfortably, at least on plastic. They're a dime a dozen in Boulder.

Whitemeat,

I have posted a topic (American Alpine Journal 2013) for two FREE books if you want them? Send me an e-mail where to send them and I can mail them your way, that is if someone else doesn't snag them first.
