Thanks Wendell, I've had a few others drop out too which have been adjusted on the list above and replaced with other RSVP'rs.

Things are moving forward. Potta Potties delivered tomorrow Todd (not sure when). Preppers showing up for Todd on Friday & Saturday. I'll swing by some tables, lights and extension cords.

Lovely weather, just the sort of days that Blitzo really loved. With the sun lower, the magic hour has been longer - makes me think of all his wonderful photography.

We're bringing Beer, Whiskey, Soda, Ice, Desserts, Water, Wood and lots more stuff to help keep this large gathering supplied!

The forecasted temps have risen, so having second thoughts about Lizard Landing as it's in the sun but there are so many choices next to the road for a quick session with sun, shade or both; Lizard, Voice’s, AFPA, etc…what do you like?

We should be setting anchors by 9am on Saturday. PM me if you want to coordinate.

I have been talking with some folks through email about a plan as well. My GF and I are getting there around 9:30. Perhaps we can meet up with you guys if we all get a consensus on where a good spot would be? I don't know the best spots that well or I would give some suggestions.

Hope you have success, but you may want to have an alternate plan - I spoke with my friend this morning and he said all the campsites were full as of yesterday...

I get sites in full campgrounds in Josh all the time. Park the car, get out and walk around. If you see someone hook the bikes onto the back of the RV, inquire. I can't count the times I've got sites on a Sat. morning by walking around and observing the scene.

Conversely, I've been out there packing up my stuff while cars full of climbers looking for a site go blasting by...

Wow, I only new Blitzo in a passing "Hey, what's up" kind of way. but looking at that guest list really makes me want to be there. Unfortunately life has other plans in store for me...

Mo and I just got into town. We are planing on climbing around Intersection Rock area tomorrow starting around 10am if any one would like to join us. It should be a fun day.

Already saw Brokedownclimber at Vons. He and Locker Indian Cove #20 something. We'll be bringing pie and non-alc. Looking forward to seeing everyone,

Campground update: Hidden Valley was probably full today, and Ryan may have been. Indian Cove is completely booked for the weekend. Early in the day Friday there should be plenty of sites at Jumbo, Belle, and White Tank. I know it's not as convenient, but it's a place to stay. All of the entrances and visitor centers also have maps to the BLM off Sunfair.

Veteran's Day Free Weekend is Sunday - Monday (not our choice). Anyone coming in Friday will need a pass or have to pay the entrance fee (sorry!)

I can't make it to the Memorial, but my thoughts and prayers are with all of Blitzo's loved ones. What a great tribute!

Trying to help out those that may not have a Park Pass

Free park entry is actually Saturday through Monday. And you're right about the campsites being full except for the outlier areas. Plenty of cheap motels in YV too.

We'll see you in the morning H. We were headed to Echo Rock and will grab breakfast at the cafe by the turn off in case you're there first.

The weather is great!

Mimi is correct. I should have posted the DAYS, not just the dates. Saturday-Monday is FREE. As I said, NOT our choice. I know the other campgrounds are not preferred, but still an option. And just so everyone is aware, the entrance will be open late on Friday night, as usual, so we will have to collect fees. But we will be there to help people know what their options are for camping.

Zip, not possible to do an 'after-party' at my place this time, but I'll be there in spirit!

I went down to the fire station in joshua tree today, and got a burn permit for a campfire;.......so hopefully we can have a legal campfire;......if anyone has fire wood and can bring some, that would be cool...for I have little to none........it's not gonna be a Guy Falks bonfire or something you can see from skylab;...just a campfire to be outside under the stars.
So;...if you wish to bring stuff, it's
1) more beer,
2) snacks, desserts,and/or finger food
3) fire wood

I will be home friday and sat.
We do need set-up help. Setting up tables, tidying up yard, moving sh#t around, putting up X-mas light so the drunks don't fall down the stairs in the dark, cleaning up stuff inside, ....lots of stuff we need help on. I've tried to get organized......I'm getting there......
The weather is fantastic;.....it should be an awesome weekend....See you all soon, and those who wish to help w/the set up;....anytime on Friday or Sat AM would be awesome thanks....

Cynthia, thanks for updating us and clarifying the free weekend along with the kind words of our tribute.

Lots of love coming through emails, calls and offers to help. Super great bunch of people we have and know that Blitzo would be so proud.

Mimi, we got your voicemail, using this public response is we're crazy busy plus (me, not poor Russ) is trying to fit in a little climbing with friends that arrived earlier this week. We'll see you and Steve at the Memorial.

Ran into Locker today in Indian Cove. This is a bitter sweet weekend for us, the memorial of our friend - someone who is deeply missed and knowing he is gone forever saddens us greatly. Still yet a wonderful opportunity to gather with other friends so many of you who donated love, money and support during his fight. I believe people call it closure but we're still stuck on loss.

Todd, we'll be there with wood and ready to help on Saturday. PM us if you need us sooner.

Suze, no sweat. Glad you were able to get out. We know how tough this weekend will be despite the celebration. We had a great time today too.

Susan, Russ, Locker, Beth, Steve S. and all of Billy's Posse....

Grief and Loss sticks around for awhile. Closure sometimes comes after a bit of time and when you least expect it. Thinking of you all, lynne.

We are going to TR at Voice's Crag tomorrow...not the best formation, but close to the entrance and road. Sun in the morning with shade a little later when it'll be needed.

If anyone wants to stop by, come on over! We are bringing at least (2) ropes. My silver Tundra will be parked at Boy Scout TH (aka "North Wonderland Parking Area").

And of course here's a pic by The Mack - BLITZO:
