The oldest wooden structure in Europe - UNESCO Heritage Site -
Urnes Stave Church. Completed about 1132. Much of what you see is original!

This is the Heddal Stavkyrke, a punk built in 1230!
It is the biggest of Norway’s 28 remaining stave churches (out of 1400!).
Originally it had a dirt floor and no pews. Women on the left/north side which is where bad spirits, trolls, etc. came from so the women protected the men. This wasn’t exactly Catholicism but ya gotta cover all yer bases, nawmean? The wood floor and pews were added after the Reformation when they went soft.

the decay factor is a bit elusive ^^^ it must be most apparent
in the MRI of the poor sidewalk shoveler who labors
primarily in the deposition zone
