Nothing new, just a rehash of the ongoing 30 year old discussion

I was curious - how long has this been discussed here?

It goes back 10 years:

Long before I was a member. Kind of interesting starting there and working forward.

One thing I would like to understand is the financial relationship(s) between the DNC & NPS. Does the NPS make any cash from Curry cots? Who pays to clean up the mouse crap? Same with the river rafts and ice rink. Does NPS pocket any of that take? Who gets stick with the bill when someone gets hurt?

Does this factor in to the Merced River Plan stuff? The NPS isn't touching DNC's cash cows - their hotel beds - but it sounds like they are kinda saying, hey some of this fringe stuff, we gotta clean up. DNC says, ok, we're cool with that. It is a business.

The discussion is actually closer to 40 years old. The original Yosemite Master Plan discussions started in the mid 1970's.
