"I know how to get laid without even having to try...you just get a girl drunk. No, seriously, it's really easy!"

Zip,
You got dumped by text? My advice: stop dating 20 year-olds ;-)

Seriously though, that blows.

you don't lose your girlfriend, you just lose your turn.

Will be married 20 years, three weeks from now. However, during my dogging days I got dumped plenty of times. After a while I began to anticipate the end and made appropriate plans.

If I were drunk, I would post these final forays into depravity and general lewdness. Alas, I'm drinking coffee this morning and pretty darn sober.

Nothin too drastic to Report here,

I was however dumped via e-mail in 1993, has to be one of the earliest e-mail dumps on this site at least???????????

This thread is a winner. ;)

Agree - Zip always brings the existentialism.

Was in the middle of a divorce some 40 years ago and while I was moving my stuff out I found a letter my wife had wrote to her boyfreind. She was telling him how much of a "free-sprit" he was and that I was such a drag for not quitting my job and going to a "rainbow festival" and since he had no job or house or car they could hitch hike together. Told him how I was always serious about life and how I wanted to work and buy a house and land and maybe have a new car and money in the bank. Boy...what a loser I was...no wonder she dumped me...

Interesting thread. Not two weeks after my own post about loving my gal she dumped me via text.

Life goes on.

Seems that social media like texting, being impersonal, makes dumping a lot easier.

2002: Dumped by girlfriend
2005: She starts dating my best friend. I get married.
2006: Water under the bridge; we are all good friends again. We hang out all the time.
2008: Best friend and ex-girlfriend get married. I am the best man and my wife is a bride's maid.
2010: Ex (now best friend's wife) informs my wife via email that they no longer wish to spend time with us because they feel they have outgrown us.

We have seen them only twice since then.

Good riddance. Besides losing what appears to be a crappy friend, I think you have had it pretty good :)

Outgrown....maybe they just got fat and are embarrassed to be seen together.

...they feel they have outgrown us.

*cringe*.. What the f*#k does that mean? Complete and utter bullsh#t. Arrogant is putting it nicely. Good riddance to as#@&%es...

I had some "friends" pull that same BS on me as well (also by e-mail). It's almost worse than getting dumped by a romantic partner in some cases. Probably could support it's own thread BTW.

Just for the record, if anyone feels I am too immature to be around, PLEASE leave me alone :)

Worst ever break up, don't know if it's ghetto: completely out of the blue, seriously, with no sign that it was coming, the @#$% dumps me three days after I had surgery to repair a shattered heel. "There was never going to be a good time to tell you" he said. That I picked someone like that made me do a deep dive into myself that resulted in major internal changes to my view of what relationship means to me. I can honestly say no one like that will ever be allowed in again.

pc, the term is called co-dependent. And, if you solo a lot, it probably doesn't apply.
