Had a climbing partner take down his side of the a simul rap before I got to the ground.
Basically got to the ground 20 ft ahead of me (no quickdraws clipping us together) and once he got to the ground, looked up, and released his side of the rope on our simul rap. Luckily I was within a few feet of a small ledge 20ft off the ground when he went off rappel, and was able to down climb the rest of the way, so in many ways, no harm, no foul.
That was a pretty ghetto to tell a climbing partner your don't like climbing with her. But it was pretty successful. I never climbed with him alone again.
Another reason among many that simul-rapping is dangerous.

I can TRY to direct thread drift back ON topic, can't I?
'Sides...some of the worst break ups I've seen (and this is probably because I'm a young tender climber) were climbing break ups...
from the fights, to the tantrums, all the way to the official break up moment.
Sure, it gets crazy with all those sexually intimate relationships...
but shite gets real when the ropes, harnesses, nut tools, and gear start getting involved...
Just trying to keep it climbing related! ;)
Cheers

It's all good.
We're back together.
It appears she was abducted by aliens or she needed me to loan her $1500 to get her transmission fixed.
Thanks for everyone's input.

I moved to the nylon ghetto in 1980 with my longtime girlfriend. She dumped me within a week. It was the beginning of a beautiful romance.

When I was in grad school, I rented a room in a house of a married couple.
A couple of weeks after I moved in, they started having fights where they were yelling at each other. I went outside to hang with the dogs.
One day I come home and there's nothing in the house. I thought we'd been burglarized. There was nothing in there. The curtains were gone, the stove out, the dishwasher removed.
I went into my room and everything was still there. I went out and looked in the garage. The shelves had been removed.
Even the soap had been taken from the shower.
My roommate had been working two jobs to pay for stuff. I guess it wasn't enough. . .

using the word 'ghetto' such as did the op is seriously some passive-aggressive racism

LOL nice troll attempt.. as if using any possibly culturally non-white anglo saxon terminology implies racism.
Feck unless we all talk in proper bbc english we might be racist
Never seen a more appropriate screen name.

Etymology
Dictionaries list a number of possible origins for the originally Italian term, including "gheto" or "ghet", which means slag or waste in Venetian, and was used in this sense in a reference to a foundry where slag was stored located on the same island as the area of Jewish confinement (the Venetian Ghetto),[2] and borghetto, diminutive of borgo 'borough'.[3] Others theorize that the word is derived from the Hebrew word get, a divorce or separation document.

The no call, no show is always painful, and I've been on the giving and receiving end of that move. The boot always hurts though if you're into the person.
