This is mine, one hundred feet from my front door. It's at the put in for a sweet stretch of class IV rapids. Life is good.

Lets see yours.

More of a Gulf than a hole down at the southern home.

The stream outside my place in Nederland. 8123' above sea level.

In the last week, I have spent 4 days camping/rafting the Rogue River in Oregon, jumping off cliffs in the main river and waterfall swimming holes in side canyons, getting tossed out of an inflatable kayak, stand-up paddling the mild rapids. After that, went over to Crater Lake, the deepest and clearest lake in North America (and brrrr!), and got in a little swimming and cliff jumping. Them is some sweet swimming holes. And I did it all with my kids! Pictures will be forthcoming, perhaps this weekend.

The gulf counts, but it must be super warm right now! I spent a winter in Naples, and that water was hot!

Edit: Yeah, Nutjob! Post pictures when you get a chance!

The time to seek out badass swimming holes is upon us.

I'm headed to a railroad trestle tomorrow. I've been jumping that thing since I was a kid. 25' of fun!

It's the northern Gulf, runs around 70 to 86 degrees in the heat of summer.
Going paddle boarding in the AM to scout for turtles, dolphins, and sharks.

I have to drive 50 miles to the boat launch at Mexican Hat on the San Juan River. The water averages about 2 feet deep, the color of coffee with cream, and about 86 degrees.

My Dog, Jack, absolutely loves it.

Plus, it is the nearest place to drink beer legally . . .

In the fifties they found giant ants living in the holes down there.

At the right downslope angle you can do a slip-n-slide on the slimy moss for upwards of a mile.
Watch out for gang bangers taking target practice!!

It's hard living here in Umbria, but somebody's got to do it! Happy swimming.
