They shouldn't issue these shaggy beasts licenses in the first place.

At least in California. The rest of you got your own programs to look at.

Retards indeed. We have lots of black bears here in whistler. I had a yearling hanging around the neighborhood a couple years back. Everytime he came around i would go outside and start yelling really aggressively at him. He ran away quite quickly.

I've used this tactic every time i've come in contact with a black bear. Stand my ground and get real agressive. Never had a bear think twice about messing with me. The fact that i'm 6'7 doesn't hurt i'm sure, but they don't respond well to agression and are looking for submissive prey.

Don't be it. Griz scare me. Those guys will mess with you if you try black bear tactics....

Unfortunately a 22yr old hiker was chased down and killed by a bear
just 30 miles east of NewYork city last month. A group of 5
hikers scattered and fled when the bear approached them.
The slowest one got chomped. Later police found it guarding the
deceased man's body.

Not to leave out Canada! A grizzly was chewing on a hunter.\
His partner shot the bear several times.
One or more bullets went into the guy being
mauled after passing thru and killing the bear.
He is expected to live.
Recovering in the Calgary hospital.

And Alaska. Multiple attacks.
Some perhaps provoked by the owners dogs.
