Bravecowboy- There's an app for that :-)
No pads needed, really, on that thing. Maybe to wipe your feet and for the crux which is low.
You're on your own up there, and even though the mantel is terrifying, the likelihood of falling is slim.

Yeah, that start is interesting for sure. M'self, I've always been too leery of the topout to go for it on WR, 'less of course the troupe re-removed that troublesome benchrock at the base ;-)
Apparently NBD to blow it on the topout....I've got a pic around here somewhere of dude just letting go off that top lip, spotters otherwise engaged.

Probably not too bad to drop off in a controlled fashion. Pitching off while trying to press out the mantle? Ouch.
I remember my first time doing that problem like it was yesterday.
I bet most people do remember it pretty well! Total classic.

Today or tomorrow should be the last sesh for six or seven weeks. The plan is to spend summer break climbing bigger stuff with a rope and partner Joe Cupps. Meanwhile, yet another video of an easy (but fun and exciting) problem from last Monday afternoon:

I figure we must have around 400 problems now in the V0 to V3 range, but we also have close to 100 problems V10 or harder, so there's a little bit for everyone here.

I'm glad you post to this thread.
I'm pretty disenchanted with the ol taco and this has been the only thread I look for.
Anyway....
You know, after being on the road for a bit and climbing at world class areas,
it's really nice to be home and realize how good we have it.
Sure, the hike is longer than the Milks or JTree,
the problems not as concentrated, and not Bard or Bachar classics.
But you know what?
It's pretty f ucking good. We get the sense of discovery, it's not all stepped on, and you don't come around the corner to find a grip of OC urban boulderers or 15 stinky Colorado dudes and their girlfriends posted up below your problem.
This stuff can hold its own and would be classic anywhere
even smack dab in the middle of the Buttermilks.
Keep posting dudes. It's the only reason I check ST!

Guess boulderin' ain't too popular 'round here!
Oh well!
Finally got to host a well-traveled visiting climber who wanted to check out our spot.
He was stoked!
We opened up some new lines
And he repeated a bunch of others.
Within 24hrs the Xmas snow storm came.
Gave it a few days to melt out and am headed back tomorrow.
He has a few bones to pick and I have a few to dig up!
