If your vagina were a gun, you'd need special permission from the government if you want to keep it concealed in public. And in California, nobody gets that permission.

Be damn careful what you wish for.

I hope the momentum that Wendy Davis got going in Texas continues. There and in all the other states with whack job politicians. It's time.

Dangerous in a good way.
Ron's subtlety goes past people sometimes (assuming I'm interpreting him as he intended; I could be wrong).
I'm thinking he meant something like "The pen is mightier than the sword."

Having moms and dads in a community is dangerous to the bad politicians, since citizens who pay attention will notice if their officials are doing a poor job.

Having just a bunch of single guys shooting up the landscape and each other, and having low expectations of their officials is no threat to bad politicians.

Not enough good vagina for you gun nuts..

Find more friendly Vagina
You will love your guns less

Ps. Don't try to hold onto vagina as hard as you hold only guns
Vagina can run ... Guns can't

If happiness was a warm holster, folks, it would be harder pullin' out the old shootin' iron. Instead, what do we have? A bunch of nervous nellies worried that some one will take away their menhoods, their men-ness, their virility.

Why is it that so many 'Protestants' follow their 'Pastors' so meekly? Sheep, fleece, wool-over-the-eyes, lambs to the slaughter.

ummm...vaginas are not wombs...but anyway

if your vagina was a gun and you used it to kill somebody, we wouldn't demand that all vaginas be banned...or even certain types of vaginas...or that all those people who legally own/use vaginas register their vaginas with the government

rather, we would insist that your right to own a vagina is protected by the 2nd amendment...and that your vagina is critical to protecting/preserving freedom because all other rights are pointless without the RIGHT TO LIFE and that if the government takes away your right to own a vagina it will have absolute power over life

The subjunctive is not a tense; rather, it is a mood, dammit!

Tense refers to when an action takes place (past, present, future), while mood merely reflects how the speaker feels about the action.

The mood is employed to denote an action or state as conceived and not as a fact.

The subjunctive mood is rarely used in English (would that it were better understoood, in which case it might be used more oftenly), but it is widely used in Spanish.

"I am feeling very tense today, Gumercindo. If you were to clean my pistola for me, I might feel more in the mood."

You’re Allowed To Carry A Gun Into The Texas Senate Gallery, But Not A Tampon

By Tara Culp-Ressler on Jul 12, 2013 at 4:08 pm

An example of an item that's not permitted in the Texas Gallery. (Credit: Shutterstock)
On Friday afternoon, the Texas Senate will vote on a package of abortion restrictions that Republican lawmakers have been attempting to push through a special session. After State Sen. Wendy Davis (D-TX) successfully blocked a vote on the legislation last month with a 13-hour filibuster that was aided by disruptions from hundreds of protesters in the gallery, Senate Republicans aren’t taking any chances this time.
According to Jessica Luther, a freelance writer and pro-choice activist who has been coordinating much of the push-back to the proposed abortion restrictions over the past few weeks, Senate officials are confiscating any objects they believe may cause a similar disruption in the gallery during Friday’s vote. Protesters aren’t allowed to carry water bottles or even feminine hygiene products, just in case they might throw them at lawmakers:

Even though the Texas legislature may not be comfortable with feminine hygiene products, it’s a bit more relaxed when it comes to firearms. Individuals with concealed carry licenses are permitted to bring their guns into the Senate gallery. In fact, a Texas Republican recently insinuated he might do just that during the current special session.
In a recent interview with the National Review Online, state Rep. Jonathan Strickland (R) expressed concern over becoming the target of violence as thousands of angry pro-choice activists rally at the capitol. When asked whether those concerns would inspire him to carry a hidden gun this session, he said he couldn’t legally answer that question. But he did add, “I very, very often do concealed-carry, I can say that.”
Since activists aren’t allowed to carry tampons or pads on their person, they have asked supporters to send feminine products to the capitol building so they can stock the bathrooms for the women who may need them.

**Stupid Pansy Teabaglicans, afraid of a tampon.
Don't those fat old pasty white guys know that Tampons and Maxi pads make great emergency first aid bandaging for bullet wounds? Do Texas women need to get a "concealed Carry" permit for in-situ protection?**

rSin,

obviously i was just joking (note ";)" symbol), and if anything, it was myself that is missing the point that the OP and the author of the poem was making. i did so simply in jest. i thought it was funny, anyway. btw, i have only read a few posts, other than the OP/poem.

edit: my cousin, for some reason still unbeknownst to me, got really pissed at me one day (when she is pissed, she just sits and stares at you forever). finally she said, "Oh, I get it, you have a dry sense of humor." (not sure what that is). When i asked her what she meant, she said, "Never mind, just be sure and tell people that you do, after telling them one of your jokes. Particularly if the're bigger than you." lol

HUH?

How did you come to that conclusion?

BTW, I was born with spina bifida occulta. i had a sore the size of a quarter, that never healed over, until i was about 14 years old. after that, t would come and go. but, i am damn glad that i am alive, had the chance to live this life. but, had the same diagnostics that they use today, to diagnose spina bifida, been in use then, they would have highly recommended, indeed most likely convinced, my mother to abort.

Your logic is extremely slanted, illogical, and lacking reason.

I am taking a stand for the children that had no voice. Many aborted up to the end of the second trimester (6 months). They can identify their mothers voice at five (5) months. WHO is the child hater, in that regards?!?!!

rSin,

I'm not pushing any politics, or forcing anyone to do anything. I believe that it won't do a damn bit of good. You can't change anyones heart through laws. I am just saying that, IF there is a God (and i personally know there is, but that is beside the point) you better be damn sure that He is gonna take action. AND, if life begins at conception, and God had a plan for that life, and we snuffed it out, sooner or later God is gonna judge a nation that has snuffed out 60+ Million of his creation. just wait and see. In my opinion, it is way to late to do a damn thing about it. Say what you want about me. But, when the sh#t hits the fan, and it will, at least I had the balls to warn ya. You can't say that I didn't.

edit: i think the whole marriage thing (or whatever ya want to call it) between the Christian church and politics/the conservative right, is simply wrong. Not what JC was about. We (believers) should vote whatever our consciences dictate, but this whole dominionist (or whatever) thing is way bad.

I'm not trying to convince women to do anything. that is between them and God. if their conscience says its okay, thats their business. i will speak what the bible says about when life begins. they can make their own choice, but they will be held accountable for it. i would be remiss to not say anything. i rarely do. this is the first time in years.

The Global Prevalence of Intimate Partner Violence Against Women
K. M. Devries, J. Y. T. Mak, C. García-Moreno, M. Petzold, J. C. Child, G. Falder, S. Lim, L. J. Bacchus, R. E. Engell, L. Rosenfeld, C. Pallitto, T. Vos, N. Abrahams, C. H. Watts

Violence against women is a phenomenon that persists in all countries (1). Since the 1993 World Conference on Human Rights and the Declaration on the Elimination of Violence against Women, the international community has acknowledged that violence against women is an important public health, social policy, and human rights concern. However, documenting the magnitude of violence against women and producing reliable comparative data to guide policy and monitor progress has been difficult.

The results show that globally, in 2010, 30.0% [95% confidence interval (CI) 27.8 to 32.2%] of women aged 15 and over have experienced, during their lifetime, physical and/or sexual intimate partner violence. There is considerable regional variation in the prevalence of physical and/or sexual partner violence (see the graph).

pretty odd that folks want to legislate a woman's right to choose whether or not she produces a new life whilst decrying the suggestion of limiting the immediacy of one's access to potentially life-terminating tools of violence.

now as for the male's legal impotency to determine whether or not a new life is created, don't get me started.
