last time i saw JB was at the bouldering contest at the magnolia boulders in Santee '79. i always thought that i would see him again, and had a great desire to talk to him in person at least one more time. i was really shook up when i heard of his passing. i had great trouble sleeping for about 9 days. i just couldn't quit thinking about him and how our paths crossed so many times. he could be a really funny guy in such a simple way. i went through so many emotions right after his death. i would tell family and people about him, and how i first met him when he was 17 years old. i tried to tell them about his climbing and soloing and how he shouldn't have died, but they would just look at me, they just didn't get it. he was still young and so much alive, then he was gone. i had a hard time wrapping my mind around it, i was very sad, heart broken. well, i sincerely hope he is resting in peace. i don't know what else to say.

Jesus. The sh#t we used to do in high school out at Josh. It blows my mind that neither one of us ever fell. Even from the start, Bachar was a different kind of specie.

Quite the unique man. One of a kind.
He, Yabo, and Largo set the bar pretty high.
Miss ya, John. Rest in peace, brah!

Largo, you guys did do some crazy ass schitz out there! I use to watch you and John from a distance thinking, "man if anyone saw this and thought it looked easy and tried it....death fer sure!" I remember you guys soloing and once you were up this tourist in cowboy boots started up the Left Ski Track, I HAD to go up and tell him to please come down, he just watched gods float up a route that will kill him.
You should take this opportunity to tell us some of the lesser known tales of you and John.
Peace
