^^^I don't believe they're thinkin' about the sponsorhips. They're just doing what we all would, if we could.
Actually, what I was thinking was, Honnold is such a solid endurance athlete that he could set a new record for the Palisades Traverse or The Evolution Traverse (or BOTH!). If anyone could, he could.

My butt bones are sore and my junk is going numb just considering riding from 14'er to 14'er.
My dad is 57 and rides 4k miles a year, at a high rate of speed. I don't know how he does it.
I'll take hiking and climbing over road riding any day.
But, these guys are rare specimens.
Chapeau, Allez!

I heard about a guy from Aspen (a patroller at Highlands) do the CA 14ers by bike about 20 years ago. I never could track him down.

i really like this idea of linking objectives with a bike. perhaps this is an idea these and other mainstreamish athletes can build on. its like the traditional approach to climbs in the modern world

RyanD, I think they got on Shasta first and then cruised down to the East Side. Seems like they're going at them from north to south. I'm interested to see how they go about White Mountain Peak, maybe they could bike the whole thing! I was thinking I might bike my way up White Mountain this summer!

I am pretty sure bikes are not allowed in wilderness. Maybe this should not be publicized

You are allowed to bike as far as the start of the trail that leads to the summit of White Mountain. From there, the hiking is 14 miles round-trip.
-----
EDIT: I just called a ranger at the Bristlecone station. You are DEFINITELY ALLOWED to bike all the way to the summit.

I looked and could not find anything about NO BIKES on the White Mountain Rd. As long as I have known it has been a very popular mt. bike ride, the road goes all the way to the summit. Stay on the road and you are good to go. I also thought there is or used to be a annual downhill race from the summit, have not heard much about it recently so maybe it's a thing of the past. Riding down Silver Canyon into Laws is always a great ride if your in the area.

White Mtn. is a good mtn. bike ride. Ditched the bike for the last bit, pretty rocky, seemed easier to walk.
Plus you could bomb down Silver Cyn, site of the original Kamikaze bike race

Cedar's post on FB:
We are In the home stretch of our epic sufferfest to climb all California's 14ers by bike and foot! Yesterday we enchained Whitney, Muir and Russel. The highlight of the day, and perhaps the trip was simul-soloing the spectacular and steep Mithril Dihedral. We head up for our last peak tomorrow! So Psyched for this to be over before my knee caps fall off! Thanks everyone who has given us love and support along the way!

I was in Big Pine Thursday morning at a little diner. As I was finishing up my coffee, in walks Cedar and Honnold. We chatted for a bit and I got some beta for tagging some 14ers.
On Saturday, we summitted Thunderbolt. I found their entry in the register. They, along with Sean Leary, traversed all the way from Temple Crag to Thunderbolt, which is 7 peaks and in a day to boot.

Update from Cedro:
700 plus miles of biking, 100 plus miles of hiking, 100,000 plus miles of climbing later we have enchained all of California's 14,000 foot peaks by bike! This is one of the most difficult, sustained, and rewarding adventures of my life! We finished today with a bang by onsight free soloing the 1000 foot plus north arête of Langley which is the southernmost 14er! I'm exhausted, but ecstatic! Thanks everyone who followed us and supported us in our journey! #131415 is complete!
Edit: I'm pretty sure he meant 100,000 feet of climbing... not miles.
