Because I just watched the people introducing themselves on the latest season of Big Brother.

These people are worth defending with your life in a foreign land ?

Jimbo, this is another "Emperor Has No Clothes Moments" from you and I always love those. You kind of excel at them, don't you? "So thanks for pointing this awkward situation out. Fortunately there are higher principles afoot and terrific people as well down here.

Meanwhile the Schadenfreude is pretty damn good, hats off to you.

^^^^^^ (rSin)

Good thing we have a final arbiter of what's good, artistic, and right. For a moment there, I thought I was going to have to think for myself.

Well, rSin,

I've really liked what you say. I also agree with others that your presentation could use some written clarity. Not a big deal, your prose makes one slow down and re read what the idea is behind the words. That's a good thing.

One should not imitate.

One should understand it's real meaning.

One should always guard their true intelligence.

One should should be very careful not to fall into complacency .....

Jim WTF is "Big Brother" ????? I mean I know the Orwellian reference but is this something else ? I assume so...........

Our military is sooooooooooooo astonishingly different than that of the US & I don't need no telly show to show me that. I have my kid yappin' in my ear about it. :-)

I think the cuff remark about hearing what soldiers talk about is a gross generalization and in poor taste... a huge portion of my clientele is military, I have a family tradition of military service (though not me), and numerous friends that serve... the people who talk loudest don't do any more than talk loud, doesn't make them experts or representative of the majority, it just makes them loud, generally the ones who have been the most places, done the most deeds and seen the most don't brag about it, don't draw attention to it, and are respectful... but that is just my not so humble opinion based on my life experience...

from my recent experience, listening to lower ranked combat arms soldiers, yes, its pretty accurate. They are young, dumb and well, you know. Spending time around Cav Scouts and Infantry was pretty interesting, to say the least.

edit: I do agree that the ones that really have embraced the suck tend to be reticent about what they've seen and done and don't brag.
