an acquaintance says he used to steal flagstone from a load it yourself quarry which covered many square miles with un-gated escape routes.
he told me about turning it from (what woulda been) a 20 bucks/pickup buy to a three bill sale by painting blendered up milk and lichen
on it, raising up a crop o' "moss rock" kept in backyard ambient care, eventually selling it to the guy he should have bought it from

I didn't mean to monopolize this thread.
It's just that lichen are such easy subjects to photograph.
They never move unless their hosts move.
And these Mariposa slates are not going anyplace soon.
