Well we know that you can trust everything a Russian official has to say.

This war is all about :

1-Isreail securing the area and making sure Syria does not get any advance military hardware
2-Stop the supply of military hardware in/out of Lebanon
3-Stop Iranians hands from supplying Hezbollah in case Israeli plan to attack Iran
4- take over Syrian little oil supply
5-Stop Russian from having access to military bases in area
6-Securing an oil line from Saudi Arabia to Europe
7-Stopping Iranian from running similar oil line from Iran via Iraq to Europe by by-passing Persian gulf current shipping methods
8-And bunch of other middle eastern sh#t too complicated for you guys to understand

Do not forget that Turkey is next

That news first broke and all I could think is have they gone
completely nuts in the WH? But then no, its the standard ploy of
starting a war to distract from domestic scandals.

How old this gets.
Wasting people just to keep certain stories off the front page.

Syria is the Russians sand box to play in. They will object forcefully to us arming the people who are shooting at the people they have armed.

What a mess. For everybody. Russia supplies weapons to one side, the US/NATO supplying weapons to the other side, Iran, Hezbollah, Israel, Turkey, everybody wants to get in on the act.

In the meantime, innocent people die, but it is a power game. Russia/China? on the regime side, US/NATO on the rebel side (which actually worries me, many of those 'rebels' would die to kill Westerners, welcome to the revolution).

Western/Judeo-Christian versus Islam. Sunni versus Shiite. Only one winner. The war machine.

And in the middle are a lot of dead innocent people.

Okay, so far we've established that Werner has an issue with Zionist mobsters (Google David Ben Gurion Hotel for perspective). Before you get all sanctimonious on my azz - read your freaking history and realize that we now bomb countries for the same sh#t that the Eurojews pulled in the 50s and the 60s to "reclaim their homeland".

We have also decided and rightfully so that the Chicago Gangster in the White House is a lying sack of poo covered with more Teflon than was Reagan. "Yo man - I don know whas happenin...I's just here for the watermelon and the campaign donations".

It's also pretty much a given that the dumbfuks from Kansas that keep signing up for the military will get killed and crippled for yet another BS reason for invading yet another who-gives-a-shit country...especially one that doesn't even have any freaking oil...but it beats working at the Mickey D's in Salina.

Which leads us to why the fuk do we care about Syria NOW?

Most likely reason - so we don't care about the AP Wire Taps, the IRS Targeting of Political Foes, the Benghazi Coverup, Eric Holder's war on state legal Medical marijuana, or the NSA Surveillance of citizens just to name a few.

I voted for this disingenuous black prick to rid myself of my Southern Guilt - now I wish I had voted for Hillary instead - at least given her age I would know to expect a Kunt.

We send 400 Marines to Jordan

The Iranians send 4,000 Revolutionary Guards

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/iran-to-send-4000-troops-to-aid-president-assad-forces-in-syria-8660358.html

Mass defection of Syrian officers.

http://www.haaretz.com/news/middle-east/dozens-of-syrian-officers-defect-to-turkey-as-russia-warns-against-arming-rebels-1.529896

Scandalabra has been kicking his regime's butt and dragging him down, but hey nothing a good war can't cure. I mean Syria-ously what has changed since this was well known months and months ago. If there was ever a time to support the rebels, it was a year and about 100,000 dead Syrians ago. Now the Islamists have firm control of the rebel groups and so we are trading a bad guy for equally bad guys.

Just out of curiousity, what do we get out of a proxy war with Putin's client state? That is quite a reset.

None of the brilliant political minds have seemed to consider what may very well be the actual action chosen: Not to do something that creates a winning side, but rather, to do something that maintains a state of uncertainty and chaos, and so keeps Iran significantly occupied there, rather than involved in mischief elsewhere.

Rong thinks he knows things about the players better than the gov't.

He doesn't.

At this point, there is not a side that appears to be better for US purposes than another. However, keeping Asad from winning is probably in our interests.
