KATHMANDU, Nepal - The body of Alexey Bolotov, was recovered this morning by Denis Urubko, Lhakpa Sherpa and Damian Benegas and flown to Kathmandu in a helicopter piloted by Simone Moro. It will be returned to Siberia where he lived.

I didn't realize people 49 and 50 years old were doing such hardcore alpine climbing sans oxygen. Impressive.

Condolences to family and friends, he sounds like one heck of a guy.

If you get away from the few media darling promoting themselves at a fever-age pitch, there in, lives the soul of climbing.

It sucks that this fine climber, would be taken out like that, rather than higher on the face proudly punching it towards the summit.

I spent some time in Russia (the land that was going to blow me up), and found, warm wonderful people, who where and are fully bad-ass.

My condolences to the close friends and family of Alexey.
