So you'll have to fill in the blank.

Tonight I'm posting with JOY. That elusive joy that pops up when you least expect it. (In my case after a couple days of the grumpies.)

Just bbq'd a small lobster tail, fresh ear of white corn and fresh veggies. Hoh Mon, it was delicious, but made even better with the sweet butter, garlic and small mexican limes along with a quiet, evening and terrific views of the sunset over the hillscape.

Plus news of an article accepted for a magazine AND packing is proceeding well for the summer in the sierra.

Joy, something I cherish like smiles from special friends.

Relaxing here in New Hampshire and eying the clouds drift across the crescent moon.

We spent the weekend in Massachusetts at my son's college graduation, accompanied by my daughter who flew in from Denver. It's been 7 years since we all lived under the same roof, but we have managed to find ample adventures to be together as a family. We left Max in Mass to continue his job search and interviews, then brought Meaghan home to the rental house she had never seen; we got to climb together outside yesterday morning, then a dinner with my parents for Mother's Day.

I took Meaghan out for a nice lunch today before driving her to the airport, and tomorrow I start packing up our moving POD in earnest for our May 25th departure cross country. The dogs are napping on the rug, I just finished giving my wife a long head rub, and the word for the night is obvious: "Grateful".

When it's hot....nekid is zehr gut! Jah?

It's been in the high 90's here, Eric. Yikes, right about now I'm glad I have a summer job at altitude 9950. Climbing at altitude is to be treasured.

Edit: Simple food can be so wonderful. Food is a blessing or a curse or a mixture of both. (That could be another whole Thread line.)

Of course we can relate all this to rock climbing. Saw a naked pic on the new boob thread tonight. And then there is Dean Fidelman's naked rock climbing calendars. And climbers need good, healthy food.

So I guess we're good......:DD

actually, it's been a very hot day here in east county san diego, (topped 100)and i have been wearing my surf baggies all day. starting to cool off a little. i think we are in for a long, hot summer. are you headed back up to the high country (where it will be a lot cooler) or have you found a sea cruise/crew to hook up with, i think you mentioned that as an option.

Leggs - ...because Norwegians a man who speaks from the tip of his brain...and is never kidding.
Well, perhaps not, but the dood does have a sense of humor, which generaly encompasses some form of kidding.

Regardless, the weeg hasn't got his ass b00ted off of ST, yet. Perhaps talking from 'the tip of my brain' is what got me, the b00t, eh?

So, maybe i are "nakit", like weeg, but this place done turned me into a liar, cuz i ain't been blessed with a flowery tongue like the weeg. Flunked creative writing twice (well, dropped out the second time humiliated) because of the poetry part of it. And I ain't gonna be cut no slack because of poetic license (like the weeg). Therefore, maybe the place has made a damn liar outta me.

So, like i said, maybe i am "nakit", guess i'll just hav'ta keep all of ya' guessing. All ready labeled a borderline perv, and was accused of "flogging the dolphin" after taking another crack at poetry on recent thread.

So what it boils down to is, weeg gets artistic license to say what he wants cuz he is gifted with the lyrics (on the "tip of his brain" evidently) but i'm a perv that gets the boot, sooner or later, if i take a shot at it.

Ya been b00ted from here yet, Leggs? Maybe we will see eye-to-eye on it then?

Cuz, maybe it will turn ya into a liar. Or are ya fancy with the rhymes like the weeg? ...wudeVah!

is refreshing.

Leggs,

I already told ya what got me booted off the ST (in so many words). i'm a lousy poet. plus, i suppose it doesn't help matters any that i sometimes lean slightly to the right, a professing and occasionally outspoken X'tian (aka jesus freak) but i tend to avoid the political & religious. If I'm passionate about anything under the sun, I don't mince my words. And my beliefs just happen to be one of the things I am passionate about, but I try and keep a lid on it. Wasn't the topic of what got me booted off of ST, btw. Two of us got booted together along with 5-6 other peeps fer getting out of hand/way off topic on a CMac thread. I know, kinda lame, to say the least.

I mean, the weeg exxxpounds on all kinds of extremely offensive stuff from his viewpoint. eg. "gods vagina" or his xxx peppered flowery speech of what he thinks of our beliefs. Has for the past five years I have been here. I roll with it, don't really have an issue with it, other than there is a radical double standard. so ya, he never kids, says it like it is (from his viewpoint) and gets away with it.

never mind!

I mean, i could sh#t can the sense of humor (dry sense or whatever) and rip a new as#@&%e on this site. and even if i was an excellent poet, my ass would be outta here before ya could say 'holy sh#t balls' (i did compliment ya on that if you recall, and i was serious, btw), lol!

fer example (just off the tip of my brain/don't have a clue what i'm gonna type):

~ generation x'ed ~

r.i.p. lil' darlins,
all 50+ million of ya.
a generation (1973-2013)
rejected mostly for
convenience sake. gone
before they could be
forgotten...or not.
yet they cud recognize
their mothers voice
from the warmth of
her unwelcome womb.

~ Splitter 5/14/13

...told ya i'm a chittie poet.

btw, i do like weeg a lot, believe he has an awesome gift, it just blows my mind (you have to flunk creative wrtting twice to know what i am taking about...seriously) and would be pissed if he did get sh#t canned. that's not the point i am making. i am just saying that there is a double standard, and i find that deplorable in that 'tolerance' is such an issue these days.

anyway, perhaps i miss interpreted your assessment of weeg being 'a man' because he never kids, and always speaks from the 'tip of his brain' (whatever that means, i googled it to no avail). and that i was somehow being a woos or whatever. ...i'm so confused. lol

Hi, Lynne, thanks for getting back with me. "how do you spell..." Dunno. They all look pretty good to me. My best advice would be to pick one and stick with it. Maybe it will catch on. I use to spell it Eastside, for no particular reason. Then one day here on ST, Mr. Robinson responded to something I had posted on one of his threads in regards to the Eastside, and he spelt it "eastside". Well, I figured Doug, if anyone, new the correct spelling, so I abruptly switched to the all small case, eastside! Then, a period of time later, I notice that he was spelling it Eastside ....huh? I just stuck with the "eastside". I no longer pay any particular attention to how people spell it, probably a variety of ways.

BTW, have fun on the eastside, (i'm envious, btw) and be sure and take plenty of pics fer us peeps that don't get outside enough! ;)

posting while thinking about the eastside. haven't been their since '91. wondering if its changed . nope, not much anyway. perhaps something got paved over, or whatever. or condos may fill a once favorite meadow. and the smoke from many more stone chimneys lingers a little longer on the horizon, perhaps. but the grand vista from a top of the whites, looking west, or the serene and mystical view of mono lake, from the summit of dana, that probably hasn't changed one iota. i wonder if one could find more beautiful views in all the world, from sunrise to sunset. the alpine glow, the approaching storms, the first snow dusting mt tom and all of his brothers and sisters. the sierra wave, thunder and lightening, starlight and storm. foggy mists hanging over gurgling creeks and winding streams. light and shadow. muir said it best, the range of light.

anyway. as far as being referred to as the 'eastside' (how to spell it) didn't really take on any consideration until the internet, and the taco in particular came around. and it didn't have a ring of importance, or any particular relevance to it other than by those who flip flopped back and forth from it & yos each season. or, at least, they were the ones that coined the term, gave it meaning. a scruffy crew, who considered it home. a small clan, bitd, who weren't particularly concerned about how to spell anything. it simply spelt the freedom of the high desert, plains, hills, mountains and valleys to them.

didn't mean to flame on the weeg. like i said, i like the dood. a roll model, in many ways. likes to come over as a bitter, cynical and tortured soul. but i suspect he has a heart of gold. a dedicated provider and family man, who cherishes his wife and two girls. and he lets his dog sleep on his magic blanket. what more do i need to say? i think it was the heat. like i mentioned, it topped 100 farenheit here in east county.

i use to call it, east boulder county. ya got santee boulders, magnolia boulders (lived on el nopal across the street from them for a few years sister still owns the house), woodson boulders, los coches boulders, and dozens of other bouldering spots within a few miles. while in college in the early 70's, use to work at this place in el cajon as a janitor. i would go bouldering for an hour or two before work every day. there were these big beautiful boulders sprinkled all over the el cajon valley. one & two stories high. they slowly were replaced with condos, business parks, and parking lots. gone but not forgotten.

speaking of coining new words or terms, i think you coined a new one, leggs, with 'off the tip of his brain'. i suspect that is a variation of 'off the top of your head'! i like yours better. ya got any others? i am particularly fond of your 'holy sh#t balls', i thought i had heard them all, being a canuck from cape breton, where even my cousin tommy, a priest, swears like a swabby on dry land. i think i was talking off the tip of my over heated brain on my first couple posts on this most awesome thread. like i said, it musta been the heat. or maybe i simply need to get out more, like lynnie suggested. think i'll give it a try. :)

Hey Lynnie, my Mountain Woman Muse...how neat to hear your "voice" all perky and full of wonderment. On the road to Montana but when I return will swing by TPR in hopes of saying "hey". It would be wonderful to get a day or two in of serious play time with "yo". We'll be taking the boat down to Mexico for a few months so maybe late summer or early fall...or around Facelift. also, with joy, as, i FOUND a neat special soccer necklace that one of the grandkids had lost, FOUND IT THIS WAY:
i tried to get an old cd player and speakers to work,
it is kind of busted-up, and but say, i think it just may play now... i missed having something like that, and a gal gave it to me free... with no speakers, then, months later when she moved, i actually got the speakers! and then--moving, stuff around one day, i broke the top of it, :(
hardly ever played since.... :(

well, THERE, when i was trying to get it to work, i found THE LITTLE TREASURE! FOR one of them...

well, got to go now and finsihing cleaning... just stopped by fast, and now, i reckon it was FOR TO BE in your:

Neebee, as always, sweet refreshment to hear you post on everyday life.

Susan, what a serendipity your post was to me today. I'd forgotten I'd written that and the leaf I sent you was from the beach that very day. The serendipity......packing up for TPR today I had a soul feeling I could not identify or define. It make me uneasy all morning as I packed up all the stuff that would make my yurt "cozy home" for the next 4+ months.

Tying the kayaks on top the van I realized I was sad. I've never be sad packing for TPR, stressed perhaps, but Never sad.

I live with 3 of my grandkids (3,5,7) and the thought came to me how much I would miss them.

Lynnie is coming alive again. When Dan died I had no emotions left. It was easy to leave, to not miss anyone whatever I did because there was nothing there inside to miss or feel.

So the poem I'd forgotten about comes back at a perfect time, Susan. Perhaps fall is over and spring is here. Thank you. lynne
