Yes of course, like minded independents all talking off a remarkably similar script. You guys are down right agreeable today as compared to previous rant fests. Are we getting sentimental in our old age? Must be the common bond of mourning of the passing of one of our most revered pioneers.

I mean come on isn't it obvious it's one and the same.
Even the FBI has.

Though I have to keep my source there secret.

No question Jh that it could merely, and most likely is, a case of bureaucratic quicksand and task shifting with hints of bureaucratic lazyness or just making a conclusion which was not later supported. Maybe it was the 2000th time they'd made the call and finally they missed this one. It certainly could be the case. They do the check, quick investigation and close the case out, leaving the info in the database while they move onto other work.

It seems rare that questions of such substance get raised so quickly, however, that might only be the internet at work. I wanted to put them on the thread as they had not be3en discussed or noted. At the end of the day, one still has to ask: "what if.....?"

We only learn of shocking things like Operation Mockingird a long time after the fact.

Had to have dinner and talk gardening, but he was a pussy compared to his namesake.

Scholars estimate that his military campaigns caused the deaths of 17 million people, amounting to about 5% of the world population

All in the name of the "religion of peas"

Today: The F.B.I. responded by checking government databases for any criminal records or immigration violations as well as activity on Web sites that promote extremist views and activities. The investigators found no derogatory information, officials said.

In other words, the Russian FSB and SVR (KGB successors) did a better job tracking a US citizen who was a threat than did the FBI.

And, just guessing, but in a Post-9/11 world the amount of data to sift for threats has led to FBI senior management pressure to close leads as quickly as possible and move on to the next. I also see on just now checking, the FBI IT project to get off paper, which was stalled in 2006 is, like the FAA and IRS projects, still a complete disaster this many years later. So agents don't have a significant technical threat assessment or tracking capability, bummer.

Agents probably just get on google most of the time and see what pops up - not particularly sophisticated. Hell, if they just switched to Salesforce.com and tracked suspects like sales leads they'd probably be miles ahead of where they are now.

A successful thwart?

Look just because we are Canadian dosn't mean we are all probably building canoes in the basement in anticipation of another fine canoing season. What is so bloody special about constructing a "successful" thwart anyway? Are you mocking us?

We just nabbed some real bonafide El Quieda sh#t disturbers and all you can say is nice job on your canoe? Tell you what Ron . We'll hand them over to you. Nevadastan is a bit like Guantanamo bay so we'll just package them up and send em down to the waterboard specialists for a little softening up. Send us your usual nice facebook pictures.

Whatever, Ron, at least they are on top of sh#t. The Canadian as#@&%es need to be seperated from the Canadian LEO doing their jobs, as well as the awesome Canadian troopers taking incoming rounds in Asscrapistan.

I differentiate the 2. I salute our Cannuck brothers that have always helped us, along with the f*#king Brits. Solid brothers!

Canadians are on top of sh#t?

You mean like we are above the USA? And you salute us ?

You Americans speak in mysterious ways but in the spirit of Canadian compromise I will graciously accept what I will assume for now is an accolade, curiously phrased it may be. You may also assume that my reference to Nevadastan was purely in jest and merely a good natured but ribald repartee amongst neighbors.

nevertheless , I insist on sending down our two new war prisoners for Ron to scalp and his friends to have their fun with. We just don't quite have the same taste for that sort of thing. You guys are made of sterner stuff you know ?
