Happy Easter yall. I usually stay away from non climbing threads, but Easter is a really special day for me and my family and I hope it ends up being so for many of you. To me, and those who believe in the Christian Faith, this day is a really neat reminder of a kind and loving creator and the miracle of his resurrection. Yeah, I believe Jesus, the dude from Nazareth in the Bible, was God in carnate. A sinless man. Perfect. Fully man and fully God. Crucified and miraculously raised from the dead. Continued to do great things here on Earth until he was taken up into heaven. Call me crazy. But it shapes me as a man and a father and husband and grateful steward of all I have and can be.

So, whatever your day holds tomorrow, be it Bunnies or BBQ or chocolate or family or alone time or climbing or whatever, I wish you a day filled with gratitude above all.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. " John 3:16

Happy Easter.

Happy Easter! I'm not a Christian, but I think Jesus was cool, and I respect all people who live with love and caring for others as their focus.

I worship nature, so I celebrate birth, renewal, fertility, life force, evolution, the wonder of eco-systemic complexity.

For 33 years my tribal family has celebrated a reunion in Yosemite for Easter, with brunch at the Awhannee! So here we are...used to cost $8.00...today....never mind...but worth it just for the long term tradition the now grown kids won't let us change.

Happy Easter! Here is the morning view from Lynda's Foresta house...top of El Cap wreathed in clouds...

This little dude showed up a few days before easter, and has shown no sign of leaving. He hasn't told me what he thinks about god or Jesus, but he says that the weeds in my yard are really delicious -- especially the dandelions -- and that there's this one bush that is so dense no coyote can get to him when he ducks into it.

PS: As Christians let's remember that going to church, or posting quotes from the bible on the internet does not make us Christians. It is about contributing positive actions to this universe. Most of us are sinners, but let's try to do more positive than negative out there...

Well said Mr. Brennan. Grace is one of the most beautiful words I have ever met. Because I need it so much in my own life I try to give it in abundance to others.

The beautiful Nasturtiums, the golden flowers on the left, appeared out of nowhere when I returned home from a trip. No one planted them, they planted themselves and now greet me everyday with their happy faces.

Grace, something we didn't do, don't deserve but reap awesome benefits from.

Grace is Easter. Love, lynnie

Grace is something else though.

Graceful behavior has a power that accepts crudity and non criminal anti social behavior for the frustration it is.

Misspelling, poor expression of an idea or just plain anger at what one would like to understand, can be resolved and given merit with a simple, graceful reply.

This is not like having to agree unconditionally, it's more like having some respect for other walks of life.

This is the best post I've ever seen!

Well Skully, at times I'm OK, but much of the time I'm a poor excuse for a human being that's supposed to love my neighbor as I love myself, but upon examination I don't .... not really and truly. But I don't call myself a hypocrite cause I know what I truly am. That's where the grace I need comes in. jess sayin', lynnie

Grace should be a faith free exercise. That's all. Do not saddle me with your yokes of baloney.
I'll love you for YOU. For Real. Isn't that enough? And when I die, I'll be dead. Feed for buzzards. I don't want Eternity. Now is plenty.
Sorry to piss on your party. I have no Grace, I guess.

Lol. Yes many religions contain lot's of hypocrites. And were started by hypocrites that wanted to control the stupid. Lots of people that go to churches are dishonest pieces of sh#t. Some people who work in churches are there only to gain access to children so they could molest them. Some priests ride in 1000000$ cars, and ask regular church goers for donations to the church. There are lot's of sick people out there who pretend to be Christians/Muslims/or whatever, who do not live by anything they CLAIM to believe. However, there are some individuals out there that got important lessons out of reading the Bible/Koran/etc, were able to transform their life, and do their best to be a decent human. My understanding of decent human does not involve hatred, murder, child molesting, or beliefs that my religion is superior to what other people believe. And I don't claim to be a saint neither haha. Just saying Christianity could help lot's of people, teach us to be better, but it depends on us, how we use it...teaching your children good lessons and spending time with them (like micronut) over Easter is not a bad thing. I do not see a reason to spray hate into this thread...

Hey Jimmy, nice post!

I'm a cynical observer about the great salvation that allows many to hold up their hands and exclaim how saved they are. Regardless of what it was...

Grace is something else though.

Lynne, this means we should 'respect' our neighbors and be nice and 'civil' to them. Doesn't mean they aren't as#@&%es.

Had a chat with an 88yr-old chick at 7-11 today, registered Democrat she later told me. She was spouting off at the clerk about culture decay. I decided to chat with her.

Cool lady. Just very concerned about the future. I tried to reassure her and wish her happy Easter.

She has me and John for the future. And many like us.

I guess I'm crazy, but I think if you practice loving someone, eventually (has taken quite some time with a few people) you end up liking them. It has much to do with the American Indian philosophy that if you walk in their moccasins you understand why they are and who they are. Happy Monday, lynnie

I just saw "The 10 Commandments" over the weekend. To me, it's kinda like "The Wizard of Oz", you never get tired of watching it again. My favorite line is "So shall it be written, so shall it be done"! Yule Brenner and Charleton Heston were both bad asses in that one!

Happy Monday to you, Lynne, and to Micronut, bluering, Ron, the Captain, and to everyone else. I was too busy celebrating Easter to visit ST yesterday, so I just now read your beautiful post on grace. About all I know about grace, other than its definition (unmerited favor) is that I've received way more grace than I've given, or will ever be able to give, and yet I still keep stumbling and need (and receive) more grace to cover it. In that I remain joyously grateful.

As Christians let's remember that going to church, [...] does not make us Christians.

Is there any possibility that you could convince my wife that this was true?

Dave, I think the standard reply to that is "Going to church does not make one a Christian any more than staying in the garage makes one a car."
