How about changing the rule that makes it necessary for players to sit after five fouls.

Just change it to six, and the best players won't have to go to the bench after getting their second foul in the first half.

Hope that everything goes well tomorrow, Jim.

For what it's worth Jim, I met a guy who had the seeds implanted and it was working very well. I'm sorry I can't remember his age (older than you and I), but over the course of several years when I saw him off and on, he was very satisfied with the results.

According to today's news, you'll want to be careful riding public transportation henceforth.

OK. I watch very little college BB.

But I try to pay attention to the NCAA BB tournament.

5 teams there this year from The Mountain West Conference:

New Mexico, Nevada Las Vegas, San Diego State, Colorado State--------and Boise State.

New Mexico should do well.

Donini! Hope all goes well, if not I can loan you my radioactive Smoky Quartz Crystal. A few minutes a day squatting on it has kept me from spawning babies and prostrate troubles ----so far.

I never like basketball. I just couldn't get interested in it.

We got the OKC Thunder a few years ago and they sucked. We had already hosted the Hornets for two years and filled the seats, so all of the games have been sell outs for years.

A friend of mine gave me a pair of tickets to a game that were three rows behind the opponents bench. Utah Jazz. This was the year that Durant and Westbrook started getting really good and since then the house is louder than a Metallica concert.

I have never seen athletes like the NBA. Those guys are HUGE and can run the court in about ten steps. They can do things with their bodies that just blew me away. It ain't college ball. In the NBA, it isn't common for a second round pick to even play anymore.

The tickets are way pricey, so I try to troll the ticket sites until a couple of hours before the game, when people freak out and cut their prices. Doing this, I go to a couple of games per year, but they are all down close under the basket. If you aren't really close, you won't be able to take it all in.

Sorry Jim. One of my two best friends got diagnosed with prostate cancer a few weeks ago, and supposedly he is going to be alright. I'm still scared shitless for him. He's a great guy and we've done a lot together.

The Thunder has a guy from the Congo named Serge Ibaka. For the first two years his english was poor and it took him a while to catch on. Now he is the leading shotblocker and is starting to score.

That guy is the most sculpted human being that I've ever seen, and all of those guys are ripped.

I give you Serge Ibaka, who can do a vertical leap of 8 feet or something:

The strangest thing about moving to the US was discovering that people cared about college sports.
I dated a girl from Finland who thought the same thing. I suppose if we were "normal" then soccer would be a religion or, like some of my friends from Europe, I'd be emotionally invested in handball. Really, handball.

For what's it's worth. I really like college ball, maybe because I went to UCLA and John Wooden's giant shadow. It's the NBA I don't really get into. Big egos, big salaries, no class, no emotional attachment to the teams.

Don't even get me started on baseball...

Dudes.....just got out of the Huntsman Cancer Center. I had 75 Paladium seeds implanted into my prostate this morning......feel great, great prognosis.
I should do the NIAD in the night so that you could see me glow in the dark. I'm slightly radioactive and not permitted to have children in my lap for more than 55 minutes at a time for a couple of months....glad i didn't become a priest!

Jim, your posts on this thread are killing me! How am I supposed to get any work done when I can't stop laughing? (Well, if I really wanted to make sure I got more work done, I wouldn't take my breaks on ST in the first place).

Like Fat Dad, I had the UCLA basketball experience, although Wooden was still the coach when I was in grad school. When I was in law school, he would take his morning walks around Pauly Pavilion when it was raining, and I saw him often. After meeting him, I actually started to root for the Bruins. Despite all that, my ultimate loyalty remains with my undergraduate alma mater.

Go Bears! Please be better than one-and-done this year.

So what percentage of the big time schools' athletes graduate, let alone are
able to read their contracts and balance their check books? The main
reason I ask is because it is painfully obvious the vast majority of them
can't even spell defense.

You might be wrong. You might be right.
http://www.pbs.org/newshour/rundown/2012/03/in-different-college-basketball-bracket-study-finds-gap-in-graduation-rate.html

You'll note the decline in graduation rates for Indiana University basketball. When Bobby Knight was running the show, they all graduated. Except for Isiah Thomas.

For all its faults, basketball is just a better game than all other college/pro sports. Almost non-stop action, lots of scoring, super athletic play almost every time down the floor.

Football= 4 seconds of action followed by the game coming to a complete stop, every play! More useless down time than any other sport.

Soccer= run run run, no score. Repeat.

Baseball= stand around stand around stand around, snooooooze.

Hockey= same as soccer, but with skates and fights.

Edit: Smiley face and breasts for those of you with no sense of humor!
