It was good to visit with Locker today & we signed the Neebee Dog too! Blitzo is investigating his little friend and even giving him a small kiss.

As the days become more personal it's likely such intimate photos will not be shared online. As I suspect they may bother those who wish to think of Blitzo in grander days or of the many wonderful photographs he has blessed us with.

We thank Neebs for caring so much and sending out the pooch of love and wanted to share those moments with you. It's a conflicting time to be holding on while trying to let go..........

~Susan

edit: eKat, we have those materials - I'll pass them on to Locker.

Steve and I visited Billy Friday evening when we got into town, Saturday morning, and on our way out of town late today. Won't get into details but today's visit was very different....

He's had a lot of friends come by this weekend to see him. He's aware of that and grateful for that. I'm sure it's comforted him.

I don't know Billy that well, and not as well as many of you. And I've never got to climb with him, though he was around during some of the JT WydeFests that I have gone to.

Right now we've got him around still, and it's important that we engage in that rather than anticipating the future, after all, it's all of our futures, living life now is important.

The way I know Billy is through his friends, his posts to SuperTopoForum and by way of his images. When we ventured down to the Wide Weekend in JT Billy started the thread and had his images up…

http://www.supertopo.com/climbers-forum/833982/Wide-Weekend-Joshua-Tree

a great time was had by all! Thanks for the wonderful images from that time…

You can read through out the SuperTopo Forum threads by Blitzo and The New Age Blitzo, what an extraordinary set of images from events in climbing that were quite amazing, and of a set of people who had an idea that they could do this climbing thing for their life.

A friend of mine, a serious photographer, told me that we "don't take a picture" but "make an image." A lot of that is being in the right place at the right time and anticipating the image. Billy, you have one hell of an eye, and of an imagination to get the shot, and a dedication and discipline to create that image when you see it happening.

Somehow when someone gets around to seriously considering what happened in that crazy culture of climbing from the 1970s, your images will be important not only for their history, but more so for the serious art that they are…

what a controversy… one can appreciate it in the context of renditions of Yosemite Valley since Bierstadt… the image is something that those who spend time there, lots of time, have experienced.

Anyway, I hope you're getting great beer in your new place… why not?

All the best to you Blitzo, great to have met you, a real privilege for me indeed!

No no no noooo!!!! I just came down from a 3 day climbing trip in the mountains and I got an email from a mutual friend about this so I checked Susan's Facebook and online here.....I just can't believe this....I'm out of the country and have no phone to call the States....I'm so broken-hearted....I was so hoping Blitzo could just hang on til I was in SoCal in October.... B, I love you, I'm sorry I can't be there quicker.....please forgive me. I just can't stop crying.....this is terrible news especially when I am hopelessly far away.

xoxo forever and ever
Marissa

P.S. That photo Russ posted of Blitzo looking through a tambourine.... he took that pic and sent it to me last year after taking a similar picture of me one night in Bishop when we were partying at the Mill Creek Station with Roger Derryberry.

One of the best weeks of my life was with Blitzo and Blueblocr and gang. It felt like we never stopped laughing from the gut for seven days straight.

Your beard looks cool Blitzo!!!!!!!

I last saw Billie a summer ago in the Vons parking lot here in Bishop

There is something about his posture and mop and saunter that only belongs to him.

We had a nice chat, shared some herb and I had just purchased some coconut popsicles.

We ate them before they melted .

Pulling away all hi , I was like fukcin Blitzo, what a character.

Today it reminds me of a quote from Warren Zevon

"Enjoy every sandwich"

Take care Sally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
