Thought I'd make this a separate thread so i can keep an eye on it. I spend a lot of time in two areas; the Black Canyon and Indian Creek that i know are on many a climber's bucket list. I know the areas intimately and have the camping scene down.....meaning, expect excellent food and campfire ambience.
To help Big Mike i am offering two days at either area. You can either feast on splitter cracks in IC or do a multi pitch climb in the incomparable Black....the Scenic Cruise is one of the finest climbs in America.....easier options available.
I provide the experience and knowledge of the areas.....including meals. I can lead everything or share leads if you prefer.
You provide the enthusiasm and your own adult beverages. You name the date.
Bidding closes on 4/1. I'll probably bump this a lot so that lurkers will see it.

This is a magnificent offer. An experience to tell your grandkids about. Climbing with a legend in a legendary place. And dinner to boot. Great idea to put this on an independent thread.

And FWIW IMHO $250 is a steal.

$500 for the Black, if you can pick up/drop off at an airport (I'll cover the extra gas involved).

Always wanted to do something down there.

EDIT: If somehow I am the big winner, we can consult on dates. I have no idea what prime season for the Black would be, but my schedule is looking pretty full until early May (too hot already?) or otherwise in the fall.

I'm laid up for possibly 6 weeks with a bruised/strained ankle as of last saturday, so I am reluctant to commit to a spring date. Then today I got a summons for jury duty for a three week trial beginning in May, then I am off to the Yukon for the summer. So going to bow out of the bidding on this one.

I'd still be keen to tie in with you Jim for charity purposes on Scenic Cruise later in the year when I am certain my injury and fitness levels are taken care of.

Elcapinyor - The honor and privilege of roping up with Mr Doninni goes to you at this point.

Thank you Jim for being so generous, with your goodwill, for the benefit of my friend, Big MIke

Regards,
Bruce M.

Ok, so we have a new bidder. They sent me this by email, so i'm assuming they want me to keep their name confidential.

It's actually a really cool bid. 600 bucks for two aspiring trad climbers to learn from Jim for two days to climb cracks. The climbers would be chosen by myself and Tami. Obviously they need to be decent climbers with rope skills which would mean Sport Climbers who have yet to breach the trad world.

Which means, Jim is going to have to hang out with sport climbers for two days!! ;) LOL..

You can still save him from this fate. Bid higher! ;) I'm pretty stoked about this bid. Obviously Tami and I will have to figure out a selection process so that two worthy individuals can be chosen.

So, what say you??

Mystery bidders? I call shenanigans, ;^)

What say I? I say that you should start sweet talking Donini into doing both trips. As much as I'd like to, I just can't bid any higher than I have. Juggling quite a few financial obligations at the moment.

Big Mike,

Don't know you, but feel for you. At the risk of offending Mr. Donini, who has already put up with my ineptitude at Indian Creek, I would love to see and climb in the Black Canyon. Call it part of my retirement celebration. $650
