It's important to note when posting these that the dude doesn't die. It's disturbing, but OK to watch.

ouch.

From the title of the thread, i was expecting one of the few survivals where the parachute doesnt open. But from the video, his chute opened just fine. Problem was he had line twists, or didn't stow the toggles correctly and/or some other reason that he wasn't able to steer fast enough when his chute opened facing the cliff. Still gnarly. But a lot different than surviving if your chute doesnt open.

Port, there is a limit to the words a Thread Head can take. I was going to use the words survive and OT, but couldn't.

ChrisMac, I know jack about Base Jumping, but the guy was lucky, apparently.

Yikes. When stuff like this happens, you don't have time to get scared. Afterward, you get scared shitless..

Kinda like a climbing fall times a thousand.

Thank God walking off the tail gate of a C-130 into the pitch black night with a thick forest canopy 600 ft. below cured me of anything having to do with parachutes.

Squishy, how can I change the title (Thread Head) without deleting the whole thread and subsequent comments. If you know a way, let me know it. I am not a techie. And the Thread Head is not that misleading in my opinion. Do you have issues?

I'd change the title to something more positive, you show me the way, and let the other posters stay 'intact'.

Kenny T and Ron, better Heads. But how do I change it without deleting other people's posts.

And you two should work as headline writers on newspapers, I have (on a number of titles) , but your heads are better than mine.

Labrat, and Squishy, the title stays the same as I am not nuking the thread. I still do not think it was a bad title/Thread Head, perhaps I could have been better.

A broken leg is all the guy got (and I am sure, scared to sh#t, I'd be).

I'll base jump when I am 90 (if I live so long).

And if my time is up, "there goes Pat the Splat." I know, poor humor.

These people have to have, well, many are woman, so much not 'balls', but more than I have.
