...sent her home with this Rx. Oh, well, a Dr a day keeps the Dr away...

Delysid (LSD 25)
D-lysergic acid diethylamide tartrate

Sugar-coated tablets containing 0.025 mg. (25 µg)
Ampoules of 1 ml. containing 0.1 mg. (100 µg) for
oral administration

The solution may also be injected s.c. or i.v. The
effect is identical with that of oral administration
but sets in more rapidly.

PROPERTIES

The administration of very small doses of Delysid (1/2-2 µg/kg body weight) results in transitory disturbances of affect, hallucinations, depersonalization, reliving of repressed memories, and mild neurovegetative symptoms. The effect sets in after 30 to 90 minutes and generally lasts 5 to 12 hours. However, intermittent disturbances of affect may occasionally persist for several days.

METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION

For oral administration the contents of 1 ampoule of Delysid are diluted with distilled water, a 1% solution of tartaric acid or halogen-free tap water.
The absorption of the solution is somewhat more rapid and more constant than that of the tablets.
Ampoules which have not been opened, which have been protected against light and stored in a cool place are stable for an unlimited period. Ampoules which have been opened or diluted solutions retain their effectiveness for 1 to 2 days, if stored in a refrigerator.

INDICATIONS AND DOSAGE

a) Analytical psychotherapy, to elicit release of repressed material and provide mental relaxation, particularly in anxiety states and obsessional neuroses.
The initial dose is 25 µg (1/4 of an ampoule or 1 tablet). This dose is increased at each treatment by 25 µg until the optimum dose (usually between 50 and 200 µg) is found. The individual treatments are best given at intervals of one week.

b) Experimental studies on the nature of psychoses: By taking Delysid himself, the psychiatrist is able to gain an insight into the world of ideas and sensations of mental patients. Delysid can also be used to induce model psychoses of short duration in normal subjects, thus facilitating studies on the pathogenesis of mental disease.

In normal subjects, doses of 25 to 75 µg re generally sufficient to produce a hallucinatory psychosis (on an average 1 µg/kg body weight). In certain forms of psychosis and in chronic alcoholism, higher doses are necessary (2 to 4 µg/kg body weight).

PRECAUTIONS

Pathological mental conditions may be intensified by Delysid.
Particular caution is necessary in subjects with a suicidal tendency and in those cases where a psychotic development appears imminent. The psycho-affective liability and the tendency to commit impulsive acts may occasionally last for some days.

Delysid should only be administered under strict medical supervision. The supervision should not be discontinued until the effects of the drug have completely worn off.

ANTIDOTE

The mental effects of Delysid can be rapidly reversed by the i.m. administration of 50 mg chlorpromazine.

Literature available on request.

LSD is a Schedule 1 drug, which means you can't get a prescription for it. No pharmacies carry it, and it has noe recognized use in any appplication -- medical, psychiatric, psychological, etc. Whatever the GF is taking is not the LSD-25 we all know and love. But for a moment there, I was reaching for the phone to call my shrink..!

Schedule I substances are those that have the following findings:

A.The drug or other substance has a high potential for abuse.
B.The drug or other substance has no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States.
C.There is a lack of accepted safety for use of the drug or other substance under medical supervision.[26]

No prescriptions may be written for Schedule I substances, and such substances are subject to production quotas by the DEA.

Under the DEA's interpretation of the CSA, a drug does not necessarily have to have the same abuse potential as heroin or cocaine to merit placement in Schedule I (in fact, cocaine is currently a Schedule II drug due to limited medical use.)

When it comes to a drug that is currently listed in schedule I, if it is undisputed that such drug has no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States and a lack of accepted safety for use under medical supervision, and it is further undisputed that the drug has at least some potential for abuse sufficient to warrant control under the CSA, the drug must remain in schedule I. In such circumstances, placement of the drug in schedules II through V would conflict with the CSA since such drug would not meet the criterion of "a currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States." 21 USC]] 812(b).[27]

Yeah, Sandoz discontinued it in the mid-60s. But maybe you can do some trippy first ascents if the GF can get some for ya and you can go back in time.

Hoppin', snappin', poppin', bingo. John, Paul, George, and Ringo. HEAVY !

donini,

that is one of the wisest things I have read. Been there, didn't do that.....don't know if I would call it regret. Nothing like commitment to a person to realize full potential.

read the first chapter of Naomi Klein's "The Shock Doctrine" about abusive shrinks. Some scary stuff. I'd keep away from them myself and keep them away from my loved ones. (you can read bits of it on Amazon)

Jim - actually, we did marry..39 yrs ago.

Who's her Doc? Timothy Leary?

The quote was pasted from the late Albert Hoffman's "LSD- My Problem Child"

Surf around enough and you'd find more than you really wanted to know, about everything but want you want. His autobiographical notes do go to say that his experiments with serotonin-blocking neuropeptides of the indole group were anything but accidental, despite his now legendary Swiss bicycle ride home from the Sandoz Labs one sunny afternoon.

I noted that of late, a Czech lab currently holds the patent..although, for some reason, D-LSD-25 is CI in the Federal SA.

Cocaine is still CII, used primarily for severe ocular pain associated with, say, snow blindness. Once walked all over town trying to cash a cocaine Rx - pure government issue; I was in agony.

Now then, for antianxieties, I recommend dihydromorheone hydrochloride. CII - LSD is for squares these days. However, the Olympic committee has had this CII banned as a performance enhancing substance, for some reason. So, here's my virtual jersey, forfeit.

As far as penny bouldering is concerned, you should see my Big Wall. Did it in a day recently! Used tated dollies for crash pads. Pushed a penny 'round the world with my nose.

For 200 "bitcoins" I'll pm you some links, to such esoteria as "The Silk Road." Understand diacetylmorphine can be had from Britian, which still accounts for 95% of the world's medical use.

Johnny-

Yeah – actually I was advised before I went to the frat house, by my favorite Supervisor, that Rita had overstayed her reign of terror, and was not long for Mono <g>. This would be the same Supervisor who awarded me a neat little $3k contract to remodel the old South County Sheriff's Substation into a “Dog House” for the dogsledding operation – adaptive reuse if I ever knew of one.

This kind charity helped fund my sabbatical, which turned out to be a net positive for your correspondent. For one thing, I was supplied with my Rx's, administered 4 Q.I.D.; free of charge.

For another, they furnished me with hard copy printouts from the Sierra Wave website, which included some innaresting blogs related to Rita; the departure of our CAO, Town Manager, and Risk Management/Human Resources (for whom it was my pleasure and privilege to have designed her home, well off the Grid on Yellowjacket Ranch, BITD); one of our Senior Planners tendered her resignation as well.

I came to learn that beloved hatchetman MMM actually maintains her personal residence in Pasadena. Turns out that, once upon a time, while employed in another SoCal city, she married its Town Manager; they both kept the fact of their nuptials a secret for some 6 months...when the news was leaked, they plead ignorance of that city's nepotism policy.

So, in addition to amusing myself with Big Wall penny bouldering and some of the cool gigs presently on the drawing boards at the “Kabala Institute of Rockclimbing and Architecture,” I am presently having some of our Town Council over to my small atelier to ask re MMM: “At $200k/yr, is a Town Manager, who does not even care enough about our Town to actually live here, the best we can afford?”

Donini,

Not a bad idea... I know for me marriage has made me secure which has changed my behavior and perspective for the better. Yet... Speaking like a Big Sister, I would still get a prenuptial just in case... Just because the gal will grow, doesn't mean it will be good for you.

Yes, this is considered an illicit drug and you cannot get it at any pharmacy. If you gf's shrink is prescribing I would be suspicious of where they recommended your gf to get the agent.

bvb's post on the technical definition of schedule 1 drugs is correct. There are several drugs (ie marijuana) that are still classified as schedule 1 even in light of there being at least some evidence of them having a medical use. Many of the drugs on the schedule 1 list are there for political/historical reasons. That is another story however and one that has been told ad nauseum.
