I'm sure he's still cranking. I remember when he broke his arm jamming too hard on the crack house. He really pushes himself to the limit.

Wikipedia (and this has been mentioned on the Taco before) says, "Presently, Didier has ceased climbing. Following his injury documented in First Ascent, his faith in Christianity re-ignited. He is currently practicing his Christian faith full-time in the Eucharistein Fraternity, Switzerland."

didier mentions his faith in every climbing vid i've seen of him, suggesting that his retreat from the world (and climbing) was not motivated by injury

I never liked how he tied his faith into climbing, it's very corny to me.

"Ok, cool, god is gonna let me send this route", or "god doesn't want me to do it today"...uhh just climb, you're really good at it. YOU are really good at climbing, not god.

But I hope he's doing well in whatever he has chosen to spend his time doing!!
