+1 Michelle

My money's on Tami, too!

I probably sound like a broken record @ this point, but giving going gluten-free a try might help -- you never know -- gluten intolerance issues tend to pop up mid-life, too. It certainly got rid of a whole host of issues for me.

Good luck!

This pisses me off so much. Why not bring that here? Why is that off limits when everything else about women's bodies is blasted [pasted] over and over here? [edited due to to remorse]

This problem directly affected my climbing, dammit. The symptoms of menopause caused a brain fog so severe that my safety and that of my partners was compromised until I got medical help. I went on bioidentical hormones and they saved my life in a multiplicity of ways. Bioidentical is the way to go.

If you want more info I'd be happy to share. pm me, please.

hey there say, Thocking... i'll email you... give me a sec...

however, by now, my advice most likely won't do any good...

*mom taught us the good old ways of just letting your body 'to it's thing'
is far more safer, etc, than all these modern medicines ways...

email coming now, hope your wife is feeling better...

I am getting hot flashes, moodiness, and feeling depressed.

Is menopause contagious?

A guy complained to his buddy about his wife's menopause related mood swings -

"My wife's grumpy and complaining all the time - do you have any suggestions - this is really a drag"

His buddy sez -

"She just needs more exercise - get her to walk five miles a day for a week."

"And that'll make her feel better? "

"No, but at least she'll be thirty five miles away."

Maybe Kenny didn't mean his "better forum" comment in the way it came across. To me, it was like "Oh, right - why would a bunch of GUYS know anything about menopause?"

But.... a bunch of the guys here DO have experience in dealing with menopause, as their wives, sisters and SO's may have gone through it.

And not only that, there actually ARE women here in Supertopo.

To me it is sort of disgusting that on Supertopo, it seems to be acceptable to post about women as if they are objects to be masturbated over and nothing more - which there certainly ARE better forums for.... But the issue of menopause (even when asked about from a man's perspective - he is trying to aid his partner in this transition) is beneath the site standards?

As for menopause, I am not there yet so haven't got advice. But, since I am 5o years old, it is something I have wondered about in the past few years and been fairly surprised that the subject is really NOT that widely talked about! Imagine that - half the population goes through this change, if they live long enough, and yet it is still shrouded in mystery to some point.

We know all about male menopause(also known as mid-life crisis). It is openly discussed, there is no "shame" in being an aging dude who suddenly seems obsesse3d with youth(his own and that of the opposite sex) and it is even seen as an honored rite of passage.

But the female menopause is some dirty dark secret nobody ought discuss? WTF????
