How does enforcing a color restriction on homes that lie on the shoreline of Lake Tahoe improve the clarity of the lake?

Color restrictions --> $$$ --> gentrification --> less brown people --> whiter population --> white is closer to clear than brown --> better clarity

There are plenty of brown people in Tahoe.
I'm thankful that my neighbors can't paint their house purple.
Someone did that in a burb of SLC. There were protest signs for blocks, petitions at the neighborhood shops, and community meetings. The reaction was almost as ridiculous as the house was ugly. The owners eventually caved and painted it a "normal" color. Compromise is the price you pay to live with others. Deal with it.
And don't flippantly mention the casinos, airport, etc. I'd LOVE to see those gone... but that's just me... and I live in a community...
I do not, nor have I ever, worked for TRPA... although I have worked against them on two occasions, with success. When did you ask me that.

You guys should check out Gatlinberg, TN some time. Real classy place.
Keeping Tahoe from becoming that $hithole was the original purpose of TRPA. Like many things that organizations role has changed over the years. There are restrictions on things like house colors because they know without them some moron with more money than sense will paint their house blaze orange just because they can. I dislike the limitations they impose just like anyone else, but they exist for a reason. Don't like them? You can move to Wasilla or some other craphole that thinks planning is a bad word.

Got it ;). I think I mostly get your humor, Wes, and I don't read that many peoples' posts with an angry hard-on in the first place.
I gotta say, a little planning in a sensitive area isn't a terrible thing. Works for shaving your pubes, works for a lot of things.

The trpa shouldn't be an issue for anybody as long as you got the bucks to pay them off.
