Something about the fact that you are a flick of a knife away from death while climbing keeps the danger front and center, those big comfy resorts make you forget your very thin skull and very brittle bones (around a big frame no less) are hurling down ice faster than cars on the 101 on Sunday.
Scares the F*#K out of me, always has. I am such a weenie...

So the surgery went real smooth last night according to Sandra. Thanks for all the good energy and positive vibes you all gave. Mike will be recovering in the spinal ward soon in VGH.

Here's a note to all caring locals that want to visit Mike in hospital. Sandra has indicated that eveyone should wait about a week before visiting. As you can imagine this is a very hard time for him and his family.
