I hate traveling. If I never step foot in a sardine-tube-in-the-sky ever again it'll be fine by me. I feel ghastly for those of you herded through "Security" as if it's needed. Everyone should fly naked. WOuld fix it all 'cept for those with well -timed bombs hidden in their cecum.

Ghost is still naughty. DMT still needs a rest.

Anxiety sucks..... much exercise..trying not to beat myself up with negative thoughts , deep breaths and Lorazepam when little helpers.

Dingus, remind me of this movie...

if my avatar didn't state it clear enough, let me just say that living with anxiety and depression day in and day out is a challenge.. I envy you Dingus for the multiple good days you tell us about here, and am saddened to know that the beast has its way with you now and then.

Bummer. Xanax is pretty cheap these days and it is legal to fly with it.

dude, no matter how down I had that travel thing there were trips that just sucked
no way to get them back on track...

there was this one time, to the SSC down in Waxahachie, where they got a bunch of us in a room to present proposals without telling us how much they had... which was considerably less than what the assembled aspirants were proposing, but a factor of 10 or 20... dawned on me, when my turn came up for my proposal to be ripped to shreds, that I really didn't need to stay... there wasn't anyway I would benefit from this trip... the soonest moment I could, I got up and drove to the airport, switched my tickets and went home.

I know you can't do that... but fantasy is such a big part of overcoming the suckage...

So about a month ago I mentioned to the powers that be, at home...

"Kaity needs a cat." I felt rather strongly about it. I grew up with pets, and I'm not the only one. But over time we lost a couple of beloved cats and my dog Billy Bob been's gone nearly 10 years now. I realized Kaity had little memory of a pet. I recalled my Pop telling it having a pet was pretty important for a kid, too.

Its spawned some discussion blah blah blah. No, they are not up for a dog, they need something that exhibits a little more self-care, and a little less cleaning up after. Kitty cat was just the thing, drs orders.

I rolled in at about 10:30 last night, not in my best shape.

There were two cats in my house (complete surprise), a short haired named Chance, and a long haired black cat with green eyes, Magic. Young females, they greeted the big cat who prowled through the door like long lost friends.

Guess who the cats ended up sleeping against?

I didn't sleep for sh#t, the things roiling my emotions were no so easily soothed. But the look in Kaity's eyes as she watched me greet her cats and see them accept me? And both cats purr whenever I picked them up, just one day 'home' from the shelter.

Pretty cool cats, 5 bucks a piece, spayed, shots and microchips.

10mg diazepam and clean out the litter box (young female humans should be kept as far from the litter box as possible).

What helps me quite a bit is to make sure I'm totally hydrated--like gin clear piss hydrated- that combined with exercise and then it really really helps to have somebody to talk to to let the elephants out of my head
Hope you feel better

Dingus, and not to be a complete downer, but if I'd come as close to dead as many times as you I'd be a tad anxious myself. It's not like you haven't earned it or anything (the PTSD thing I mean).

I probably don't have anything that will help but a bit of sympathy. Anyway, if you can, spend a day with yer kids Dingus. It still helps even long after they've grown up and moved out. Barring that, even texting helps when you can't be there to get hugs and stoke in person. I texted the lad yesterday, ("hey kid I got a new kayak, LOOK") perks me up. Course, I had a new Kayak which might be a good thing for you to get too. And some time to use it:-)

Best to identify what is causing it and address it directly. Then stop worrying over it if you can't change it. Good luck, life is already too short to be cranked up over.

Don't worry, be happy . . . sadly it seems that fear and anxiety are the new American Dream turned nightmare. Everywhere one turns there are doubts and uncertainties in abundance. Must not let the surface discourage the internal.

Spring is coming my friend, along with it a rebirth, fresh, vibrant and alive.
