Anyone been up there in winter? What would be the preferred way in? Is it from Wolverton/Lodgepole or other? Would be awesome to get out there and take some pics of Angel Wings etc with some snow on them.

Vitaliy sounds good but that place is a powerful cloud magnet. Visited years ago in late May, bridges washed out and the blizzard made the whole approach gnar

can't remember what the web cam link for the cam up near Castle Rocks looking up the Kaweah drainage. give an idea of conditions.

HST gets the sun so maybe clear some of the way or firmed up snow for fast boot'n.

I'll be really surprised if anyone has been to Hamilton Lake in the winter. Hey, get the FWA! First winter arrival!

I'm sure you can make it with enough time, but it's gonna be an expedition

Seriously? You don't think people been there in winter? I can't believe that. However only pic I found online of Angel Wings in winter was from a plane : /

do yourself a big favor and get a pair of skis.

Even 3 pins from a play-it-again sports and some old boots will be better than walking in there by far.

I will never ever snow shoe again.

Ha ha, I have also said I'll never use snowshoes for an approach again! But everyone should have that experience at least once, so they can have their own tales of woe and intrigue to tell!

Skis are the way to go, fer sure.
