Is it just me or does it seem like all the cops have run and hid somewhere? Like, the last few days around So. Cal and even here in Vegas, like not one Black and White and no motorcycle cops? Is it that angry guy? Seems like he drug them all up Big Bear then dumped a foot of snow on them and all their cop trucks and cars and armored personal carriers and Swat helicopters and news conferences and millions and millions of taxpayer dollars’ worth of stuff and everybody knew he was miles away and they stayed to make some taxpayer funded point for some reason. People just watching on TV while these retards slosh around the snow looking for tracks of something long gone. Meanwhile, they are all hiding like little girls back home, driving personal cars around. Kinda cool, life without cops driving around everywhere being all toolish and angry. One Guy having this effect. Maybe it’s just me. Thank God I don’t have a morning newspaper route in a dark pickup…bitches just open up on you! F the Constitution!
Kinda makes you wonder if you could really count on these guys if the 8.0 happens or if you want the nastiest looking pistol gripped multi giant magazine sized Rambo Mother F**ker gun you can lay hands on protecting your wife and kids in front of your shook down hovel when roving bands of thirsty come moving thru. Kinda feel like one guy >>>maybe the guy >>cuts one down in Riverside and they all scatter, what will they do when a big one hits? I’m guessing they will dig a hole, bury their badges and uniforms, take the government issued guns and make a run for it.
I’m beginning to realize, now that they are gone, even for a short time, there weren’t that many of them to begin with. It’s all show. Like the Dead Said..”It’s all to clear we’re on our Own, Sayin Ashes to Ashes All Burn Down”
2 people dead in LA, that's just a standard police report.
2 cops dead and they shut down the state and open unlimited resources, overtime, and issue an open budget to get the guy...
Whatever.
I like Pelosi's comment:
Feinstein and Boxer Ask Californians to Lay Down Their Weapons During Statewide Manhunt
(PP)- As an ex-Los Angeles police officer killed three people and went on a deadly shooting rampage in a vendetta to punish those he attributed for his firing, California Senators Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer pleaded for calm, and asked both law enforcement and civilians to lay down their weapons.
An intense manhunt for Christopher Dorner that aroused fear across several states and Mexico focused late Thursday on Big Bear Lake, about 80 miles east of Los Angeles, where police found a burned-out pickup truck that belonged to the ex-military and former police officer Dorner.
Throughout the day, Senators Feinstein and Boxer made desperate pleas for their California constituents to turn in their guns and not confront the crazed gunman because this would be a perfect test of their anti-gun proposals.
“The Senators feel the best course of action is to remove all weapons from law enforcement and private citizens so no one else gets hurt,” said a Senate communications intern. “When the gunman realizes that nobody else is armed, he will lay down his weapons and turn himself in…. that’s just human nature.”
“I will bring unconventional and asymmetrical warfare to Los Angeles Police Department officers, on or off duty,” said Dorner in his angry manifesto published online. The rant also claimed that: “Unfortunately, I will not be alive to see my name cleared. That’s what this is about, my name. A man is nothing without his name.”
Other California lawmakers chimed in on the Senators’ anti-gun stance with Los Angeles’ Democrat Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa saying disarmament was a good idea, except for public officials. Republicans thought the idea was just crazy.
“Feinstein and Boxer want everybody to go unarmed as a madman is running a round shooting people,” said a Riverside, CA. alderman. “If that is the truth… I’m never going to San Francisco again… something must be in the water to make them that insane.”
Dorner, 33, had multiple weapons including a frivolously banned assault rifle, said Los Angeles police Chief Charlie Beck, who urged the suspect to surrender at an unusual press conference in an underground high security room where police were shaking in their boots.
“Of course he knows what he’s doing, we trained him. He was also a member of the Armed Forces,” he said. “It is extremely worrisome and scary.”
The Palookaville Post has learned that nearly 10,000-members of the LAPD were dispatched to protect more than 108 potential targets across the region on Thursday. The department also said that the federal government was in fact more dangerous than the lone suspect because their ideas of weapon confiscation can hurt millions of Americans over several generations.
Putting down their weapons is simply not an option for all legal gun owners. It is their Constitutional right and moral responsibility to protect their loved ones…. it should be obvious.
C'mon Monolith,
It's one thing to hate guns, but it's stupid to say unarming law enforcement and citizens will make bad guys just lay down their guns out of human nature...
Not only did LAPD shoot the wrong vehicle ... Twice ... they only managed to wound the occupants . Obviously it was fortuitous the poor newspaper ladies were not killed ...
...but what if rogue cop Dorner had been in that truck ? Probably looking at two more dead police based on their shooting ability.
I remember baxck when the hunt for Claud Dallas was going on.. The powers that were decided he was in a dwelling and blew said dwelling up- he was never even there at all.
They are a street gang. Always have been. Dorner's main issue is that the police involved in the Rodney king beating were never properly punished and in fact were promoted to superiors in the lapd. According to the part of his manifesto I got to read anyways....
so how bout that GUN CONTROL!?? Are you SURE you want to leave your personal protection up to the "professionals"?
edit: Im a little shocked by this SECOND missed ID... Last time i checked, you could certainly tell the diff between a pale white guy and a black guy..
What the hell is wrong with this department. At this point it seems clear there is a leadership and management problem. A dysfunctional culture has been fostered. Time for housecleaning. Sounds like they need to strip down the whole force and start over with new folks. New training.
Ever noticed the difference between Troopers and Local LEOs? There have to be deep issues on that force.
I TRUST my local PD. As far as they are allowed to perform..I can not speak about the LAPD- nor have i ever gone through a day in the life of an LAPD officer, nor would i ever want to. But it does appear that some house cleaning is in order.
you just know fattard's sitting there watching this thread, twitching..
wishing he could post up some unfunny trollololol and namedrop about some scumbag politician he's having lunch with tomorrow
This guy Dorner went to school about 35 miles from here and the heat is on edge here too. They already have it in for black people here (andfor me too) so maybe I should wear a Cracker Barrel T shirt and get a Confederate flag.
How come we don't hear about how this nut was a big Obama supporter?
So far we have 4 cops that have shot their weapons at the wrong people.. Lets not make it more than that. There are HUNDREDS of others that havent acted inappropriately. We should also start thinking about copy-cats- i know if i was in uniform id be thinking on that.
Kenny, i promise you,, that bad guys would LOVE an un-armed society. If you dont believe me,, ask those still alive in CiadaJuarez..
My bad guys,, the gang about a half mile west of me,,, STOPPED their taggings on my street when they got to my shop..Why you ask? Because ive let it be well known that i am an ARMED citizen.. They know of the "crazy gringo" who dwells there.. When met with equal or better force, bad guys head in another direction.
Same reason our banks had armed guards for a while after a rash of robberies. While they were there , no such occurrences took place.

Same with us gun owners... 1 guy uses a gun for bad and they want to take all the guns away from the citizens.
Those cops shooting up cars are pretty blazoned.
Guess the guns should go away for cops too. Just a good ol' billy club and a whistle should do it. ;)
I know Ron the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. Any self respecting gangbanger isn't afraid of a few armed citizens.LOL
Ah jeez
C'mon
Gangbangers prey on the weak.
They pick fights they expect to win, not maybe win.
No bad guy or good guy wants "a fair fight" in those type of scenarios.
Kenny, a buddy came out of kragens auto - middle of the day to find three mexicans going through his camper shell they had broken into. When confronted the told him to go away or they would hurt him.. So he drew his glock 40 and said,,"i dont think so"... 3 went to jail, then deported. They are probably back awaiting the dream act to legalize them here.
Press release from the same outfit selling the backpack armor.
NEWS RELEASE: 02/08/2013 LEANDER, TX.
Updated Policy for State and Local Agency Law Enforcement Sales:
Due to the recent and numerous new Anti-gun/Anti-2nd Amendment laws passed and/or pending across our country, LaRue Tactical has been forced to reconsider how we provide products to state and local agencies.
Effective today, in an effort to see that no legal mistakes are made by LaRue Tactical and/or its employees, we will apply all current State and Local Laws (as applied to civilians) to state and local law enforcement / government agencies. In other words, LaRue Tactical will limit all sales to what law-abiding citizens residing in their districts can purchase or possess.
State and local laws have always been a serious focus of this firm, and we are now dovetailing that focus with the constitutional rights of the residents covered in their different areas by the old and new regulations.
We realize this effort will have an impact on this firm’s sales – and have decided the lost sales are less danger to this firm than potential lawsuits from erroneous shipments generated by something as simple as human error.
Thanks in advance for your understanding.
Mark LaRue

Hard armor is not like soft armor where it deforms to absorb energy. There is a mild punch but the bigger concern is upward splatter into the soft tissue of the neck. Thats the reason for those shmogue neck scarves. At 14 pounds it gets a tad heavy after a while however.
Ive actually been fairly disappointed in the price gouging going on with many ammo manufactures.. Good to see there are many that wont be selling out patriotism and customer loyalty in lieu of cash..
A buck a round can kiss my arse...
edit: Kenny,, that deer is fairly safe i would say.. Ive never seen a deer hunter any where near the fortress. Nawmean!
I talked to a couple last night at Starbucks and they confirmed the
news about some of their own being very real. They said he will not
be taken alive.
This guy is a bonafide.. But i also wonder the WHYS..
This because of Claud Dallas. As you may remember, he had wide spread support of the shooting of the first officer, and many people aided him in his flight.. Had he stopped there, and not shot the second, he may have gotten off with hardly anything. He is now a free man, having served a rather short sentence. Obviously there was much more behind the scenes that wasnt such common knowledge. That lead game warden he shot first had a well known record of extremely poor dealings with the public, to say the least.
But being an ex leo of the woods, i cant imagine shooting my own. And i was used and abused by that system as well..Like the many.
As far as these erroneous shootings,, i pray weve seen the last.
edit: PRon,, forgeddaboutit! ;-) I can get em for fifty two cents per..
edit: what i really want to say about the BAD shootings,, is WAKE THE F UP PATROLMEN! Target ID then aquire...
Kenny, i promise you,, that bad guys would LOVE an un-armed society. If you dont believe me,, ask those still alive in CiadaJuarez..

Ron, you are so stupid.
You don't even know how you are known: The cop.
That's how you will always be thought of.
No one who is sane messes with a cop, retired or otherwise. Cops always have "friends" on the force. They know how to fake a scene. They know how to get away with murdering someone they don't like.
Ken,, yes i do have friends in local PDs. But its been a long time since i was in a uniform.. But ive also been the facilitator of a few crime scene investigations around here- like my neighbors shoot out and such. So perhaps that is a known, yes ill agree with that..
But, as for the faking and murder you mention,,youve maybe seen one too many movies. While that sort of corruption does exist here and there, its hardly a norm. If anything, our local LEOs have shown great restraint in firing on perps. Those i know are not involved with faked murders. And neither have i ever been involved in such.. There will always be a sour apple among the many. Humans are cops,, cops are human.. To expect otherwise is fantasy.
Brandon,, there are many groups that seek to do just that.. Google is yur friend.. Why do you think ammo is so scarce right now? When manufacturers are going 24/7..?
It ISNT because they are going out to stores. The shelves around here look like mother hubbards cupboard.
Why do you think another 100 million guns or so have been added to the citizenry? Because the govt seeks to ban them But MUST abide by current laws when those guns were purchased..
Zealots like Fienstien would love to see single shots only. Some right here on ST have said they want ALL GUNS taken from the citizenry. They will chip at the laws at every chance- it took a day after sandy hook for the crap to start spewing. All over 10 round vs 30 round mags,, and a total of 1.53 seconds added per clip change to the entire scenario.. And this makes sense? This is "the problem" especially considering the other six hundred million 30 round magazines in circulation have never killed a soul. our latest violent homicides have been from gangers and illegals that were KNOWN to be just that- yet the local PD can not touch them until AFTER some homicidal occurrence. But THAT isnt the problems,, its those pesky look alike personal defense (catagorized by the US GOVT as such) weapons and those awful high capacity magazines.. We will now take those away,, and when the next shooting involves hand guns with fifteen round clips we can go after all semi autos.. And then when a remington BDL is used (again) we can get those too!
Im reminded of a similar circumstance bitd, in the Markleeville area. Seems an FPT had been shot at, sniper style.. So Several of us were assigned to go with these said patrol people-- as additional targets i always imagined.. But the FEAR factor was indeed there somewhat. Suddenly ever high place or cliff top became a possible locale. Necks were sore at the end of the day- as they whipped wildly about.. It was enough to make you nervous. Every vehicle approached was done with the utmost care. It could come from anywhere right? KNOTT an easy feeling being a target.. And much of the time, those in uniform are just that- one way or another. Another time, there was an explosive charge found in an LEOs vehicle in a different forest- causing an all out alert.
Im not defending the BAD shoots, but just pointing out they arent having much fun right now.
All this Dorner needs to do is turn into another one of those whats-his-name (the guy who has been living in the central Utah mountains breaking into cabins for years).
What a freaking nightmare THAT would be.
As for the friendly fire, over a hundred people were killed as a result of the 12 day hunt for John Wilkes Boothe.
Reading that manifesto - its clear why he is doing what he is doing. And seeing the scope of his training and experience,, im GLAD im not on his shyte list!
He was even sure and brave enough to post the names of his primary targets. He will engage in waiting games now ,, no doubt. A survival expert so he can hang until the moments he looks for develop.. Im betting this will go on for some time to come.
Before you start with your argument that you believe I would vote for Obama because he has the same skin color as me, f*#k you. I didn't vote in this last election as my choice of candidate, John Huntsman, didn't win the primary candidacy for his party.
Apparently my skimming is deeper than your reading, Ron.
Also:
The honorable President George H.W. Bush, they never give you enough credit for your successful Presidency. You were always one of my favorite Presidents (2nd favorite). I hope your health improves greatly. You are the epitome of an American and service to country.
Ron .....he loved Bush also according to the manifesto...This guy obviously has a bone to pick with the LAPD...Too bad he had to resort to these tactics to prove a point...

Mr. President, I haven’t agreed with all of your decisions but of course I haven’t agreed with all of your predecessors decisions. I think you’ve done a hell of a job with what you have been dealt and how you have managed it. I shed a tear the night you were initially elected President in 2008. I never thought that day would occur. A black man elected president in the U.S. in my lifetime. I cracked a smiled when you were re-elected in 2012 because I really didn’t think you were going to pull that one off. Romney, stop being a sore loser. You could’ve exited graciously and still contributed significantly to public service, not now. Mr. President, get back to work. Many want to see you fail as they have stated so many times previously. Unfortunately, if you fail, the U.S. fails but your opponents do not concern themselves about the big picture. Do not forget your commitment to transparency in your administration. Sometimes I believe your administration forgets that. America, you will realize today and tomorrow that this world is made up of all human beings who have the same general needs and wants in life for themselves, their kin, community, and state. That is the freedom to LIVE and LOVE. They may eat different foods, enjoy different music, have different dialects, or speak a second language, but in essence are no different from you and I. This is America. We are not a perfect sovereign country as we have our own flaws but we are the closest that will ever exist.
RJ,, yes it is a shame it comes to this. He seems to have his proof in the manifesto. At least in his eye for sure.
and yes survival,, thats the first thing i thought,,, benghazi...uh huh..
no you over-reactionary libs,,, that was just a small notation and remark that was then questioned and re-questioned by the usual characters.. No body is blaming obama fer squat here. Mmmmk?
and GWJ,, no i dont think the paranoia would be anything close.

He's not there. Misdirection is a KEY tactical move.
He need not fear me. I know his plight. Not that he needs it, but I could help him.
There are folk that yearn to be TRUE, but the system of LIES won't let them.
I know Big Bear well as well as getting out of those mountains which is easy even in the snow. Most likely teamed up with a few notorious gang members in the area in San Bernardino especially a few Cartel members which a 1 million reward is small change to them for exchanging info on LAPD including tracking techniques.
He would know about the drones that have been flying near the Mexican border for years and just needs to get the timing right to cross; mostly likely a tunnel.
Dorner was fired after he reported that his training officer kicked a mentally ill man 3 times. The LAPD claimed he fabricated the report and fired him.
Dorner's case revolved around a July 28, 2007, call about a man causing a disturbance at the DoubleTree Hotel in San Pedro. When Dorner and his training officer showed up, they found Christopher Gettler. He was uncooperative and threw a punch at one of the officers, prompting Dorner's training officer, Teresa Evans, to use an electric Taser weapon on him.
Nearly two weeks later, Dorner walked into Sgt. Donald Deming's office at the Harbor Division police station. There were tears in Dorner's eyes, the sergeant later testified.
Deming gave the following account of what happened next:
"I have something bad to talk to you about, something really bad," Dorner told him.
Evans, Dorner explained, had kicked Gettler once in the face and twice in the left shoulder or nearby chest area. Afterward, Dorner said, Evans told him not to include the kicks on the arrest report.
"Promise me you won't do anything," Dorner asked Deming.
"No, Chris. I have to do something," Deming responded.
An internal affairs investigation into the allegation concluded the kicks never occurred. Investigators subsequently decided that Dorner had fabricated his account. He was charged with making false accusations.
At the December 2008 Board of Rights hearing, Dorner's attorney, Randal Quan, conceded that his client should have reported the kicks sooner but told the board that Dorner ultimately did the right thing. He called the case against Dorner "very, very ugly."
"This officer wasn't given a fair shake," Quan said, according to transcripts of the board hearing. "In fact, what's happening here is this officer is being made a scapegoat."
At the hearing, Dorner stuck to his story. Evans, he said, kicked Gettler once in the left side of his collarbone lightly with her right boot as they struggled to handcuff him. She kicked him once more forcefully in the same area, Dorner testified, and then much harder in the face, snapping Gettler's head back. Dorner said he noticed fresh blood on Gettler's face.
But there is independent evidence that Dorner told the truth.
Gettler's father, Richard, testified that police eventually brought his son home and that he noticed a slight puffiness on his son's face. His son told him he had been kicked by a police officer — once in the face and twice in the chest, he said. Richard Gettler said he was shocked but decided against calling police because the injury was minor and his son could not explain what prompted the officers to use force. Gettler said that his son's mental illness prevented him from being a good witness and that he was easily scared and would often answer "yes" to everything.
The police think that Dorner shot Randal Quan's daughter and her fiance in revenge. They were innocent of anything that might have happened involving Dorner. If this is true, he's a crazy murderer even if he'd told the truth earlier.
No Survival, you are wrong, it was Miss Scarlett, but yes the candlestick in the library.
Boy, has this bloke Dorner kicked up a storm. The hate I have seem on some forums. Racist crap and such. There is one bloke on the LA Times forum who is the embodiment of the Aryan Nation.
Graniteclimber, for once I agree with you. If indeed he did shoot the Quan gal and her fiancé, then he should go down for that. Big time.
EDIT
And why the heck is Charlie Sheen involved in this mess. Anger management I guess. (PS, I still think his father is a better actor, but stealing my late, late, late relative's name - Josiah Bartlett - is unforgivable, but I'll blame the West Wing writers for that. Josiah Bartlett, second man to sign the Declaration of Independence, a physician and New Hampshire's representative to the Continental Congress).
There, now you have it. And if Dorner wants to come after me, he will have to cross the big pond.
And anyway, the skiing is better in Kirkwood and Reba/Bear. Why go south to Big Bear? Someday, even though I am a crap skier, Mammoth is on my tick list.
Uhhhh, Dorner wouldn't be hanging out in Mammoth, would he?
