Yeah!
No big deal. Dupuytren's Contracture caused my little finger to curl. Had it fixed less than a month ago, stitches get taken out tomorrow, giving me two months to train for Zion at the end of April and then another four weeks till Yosemite in June.
Psyched!

hey there say, mark... good to hear that all will be well, for you hand then, with this taken care of...
i had a near-finger-lock situation, so i learned a few things that could be done to help it, and thankfully, now, it is all okay...
it is caused by stress on the tendon, too, of the finger, from lifting heavy items, but balancing the weight ON the fingers instead of the whole hand.... (but at that job, that was the only option--glad i am not there anymore... however that kind of finger issue runs in our family, on my mom's side...
happy new climbing days, now, to you!

As someone still recently off the DL, I can relate. I hope you continue to heal quickly and fully, Mark.

I think it's going to hurt getting the stitches out.

You should have patched that up with duct tape and a popsicle stick. Are you going soft?

Now that was way high on my morning 'that's really harsh' meter. Dude, seriously, glad I don't have to stare at that all day every day. Gnar.

Wow mark, ten years ago i had the same surgery on the same hand in the exact same spot as yours.
Only surgery i've had....knock on wood.
It's like new and has never bothered me again...i climbed the day my stitches came out.

Interestingly dupuytren's contracture is more common in people of scandanavian or celtic descent. It's sometimes called Celtic Hand.
Also many people with this also have Peyronie's disease. Please no pictures of that MH.
